A time long ago, there lived a king. His kingdom was like other kingdoms in every regard except for one thing: the affects of poison there were different.
Although poison was "hanikarak" (bad for you), a more deadlier poison acted as an antidote to a less deadlier one. I.e. if a "nagar vasi" (villager) swallowed one poison, he/she would be cured if he/she then swallowed a more vicious poison.
In order to ensure his survival, the king realized it was imperative that he have the most lethal poison in the land. So he ordered his head Apothecary and his Chief Advisor to each produce a poison for him within 24 hours. After production, each would ingest the poison provided by the other and then swallow his own poison. Whoever survived at the end would not only have the most lethal poison, but would obviously remain alive.
Knowing that the Apothecary would definitely produce the best poison (since this was his profession), what can the Chief Advisor to do ensure he is the one left standing?
