Is it any coincidence the guys that people regard as the best quarterbacks are playing behind the best offensive lines in football?

I know the answer to this one, seeing if anyone else does.

Except in Minny. And notice the struggles Manning had with Jeff Saturday out vs the Bears. Looked very ordinary.

Yea the Vikings are definitely more geared to the run game with their offensive line. Still, not any excuses as to why Tavaris Jackson is so poor.

See this is what I mean right here. Excuses. Fair Warning u said manning missed Saturday, which could be true. But Manning bad play had nothing to do with a good Bears defense or the fact he is coming of injury or maybe that he hasnt played a football game in a year.

Let me ask you guys this. How come two years ago Andrew Walter didnt have everyone making excuses for him. By far worst organization, Worst O-line we probably have ever seen. And Art Shell and some owner of a bread and breakfest calling the plays. But Walter didnt get any love he was a bum. Palmer is a bum.

Look I know he is the so called prototype. I know he had one great year and everybody called him the next big thing. But at the same time. He has had horrible stats and have played horrible but some how his receivers have still made pro bowls. Now if its the line and the receivers and the staff. How come this same staff took them to the playoffs. These same receivers make pro bowls even with their QB throwing 20 int and 27 Td's.

Nothing I say or how bad he does are going to change you guys or the public perception of Palmer. Cause lucky for him there is always someone else to blame for his failures. But one day he is either going to go to another team and suck or he will be sat on the bench by the bengals and his little bro will get it done. But until one of these things happen yall going to believe in this guy just like people wanted to keep believing in Matt Leinart.

The guy can't fool any defense in the league. Opposing defenses can score at will against his defense. That means he is playing behind and forced to pass so the defense isn't distracted with the run at all. Even when they don't have to pass, they still can't run the ball because the front office didn't keep the above average offensive line together. What's a QB supposed to do when he is forced to throw because of the score, coupled with the fact that opposing defenses don't respect the running game and double and triple team his WRs? The guy is a very good quarterback in a very bad situation and there is not a single QB in the league who would have success in Cincy until the rest of the team gets better and makes the Bengals something other than a one-dimensional pass team that is obvious about what it is trying to do.

Minny would be the NFC favorite if they had Palmer. The Bungals are worst-run organization in the AFC, and no, Manning could help them either. Under no circumstances should they have brought Chad Johnson back. And only the Bengals let their best O-lineman go right before the season.

Thats really not saying much. You put about 25 of the starting Qbs in the league in minny and they would be the favorite in the NFC.

Jake T you know football there is no doubt about that. But this is such a weak argument.
2006 playoff year and Palmers best year. Bengals 26 in rushing
2007 season bengals 24 in rushing.

It wasnt nobody crying about there running game when they was doing good in 2006. Again just more excuses for Carson.

training camp. Now they should be at the point where they should play
faster and better this week, making sure we're in the right spots all the
time."

Since when did facts become "excuses"? I stated some facts and reasons that Palmer appears to be getting worse. Either present a counter-argument or stay out of the conversation because posts like this don't add anything IMO.

What a shocker Marvin Lewis blames the receivers. Did they miss training camp and practice last year to. Also Lewis wont say anything bad about Palmer cause he is trying to keep his job. He knows the owners and GM has Palmers back before they got his.

Is there really a more overrated Pro-Bowler than Chad Johnson? He caught TD's in FOUR games last year, but he is talked about like Moss, TO, etc. I'm sorry but a star doesn't go 8 games without a TD. That's not on Palmer.

I agree posts like that do nothing but I also stated some facts to your argument.

I dont want to stat this wrong but doesnt he either has the most catches or yards or something like that over the past few or so years. TDs isnt the final judgment of a receiver. Again Chad was an ass when they was winning but when the losing came everybody wanted to go after him. Terrell Davis today on NFL network is the first press outlet I have heard say that the press dont go after palmer and he dont know why. Any other Qb would get killed for playing this bad.

Why do they go after CJ? He doesn't bring his A-Game every week and pouts if he isn't The Man. Housh took some of the catches away last year and he sulked. 1400 yard seasons look nice, but when you catch 2 TD's the first week, go 4 weeks without one. He then catches 3 in a game, then another 8 without one. See the pattern?

So your argument for palmer is that chad is overrated. I never said Chad was all that. But he would start at receiver for every team in the NFL except the Cardinals.

There are many factors for Palmer's poor play. Some of it his fault and others are not. The talent on offense isn't near as good as two years ago. Not sure why they released Rudi Johnson either. Knowing the Brown family, it involved money.

The offensive line could pass protect better at that point as well. Palmer will get better as the season goes on. They have played some excellent defenses to start the season but Carson can get time to throw against half of the teams the Bengals play.

The defenses he has played are ranked #1 and #3 in the NFL this year. #5 and #6 in yards allowed last year. He's not playing chump defenses and looking bad or anything. He'll have his 3-TD games at some point but the deck is so stacked against him that you shouldn't expect him to look like one of the better QBs in the league, which he is when given time.

Don't expect it to be any better this week as the Bengals have to go on the road against the Giants but week 4 against Cleveland I'd call for a 350+ yard game.
