I disagree about free trade being the antithesis of Democracy. That's not to say that groups or people don't take advantage of free trade to most peoples detriment.

Free trade is a natural consequence of democracy

Tell that to the Zapatistas and Subcomandante Marcos in chiapas and they'd laugh you off their land.

As we know it, free trade is the antithesis of democracy; it is anti-democratic. It is the result of groups or people wanting to make profit off of a democratic system and/or assert their individual will over the leveling that takes place in a democracy.

Just FYI, we don't live in a Democracy - we live in a Republic (although with elections in this country being the way they are that might not exactly be true either).

Better yet, why dont you go move to North Korea, Vietnam, China, or Cuba. These are exceptional countries that put your theories into good use. Though Cuba has a lot of hotties you can test your theories into good use.

Democracy may not be the most perfect form of government, but it is the best one in this planet. Only in Democracy can someone poor become wealthy. Though a little luck always plays, all rags to riches stories deal with the person working really hard and sacrificing before becoming successfull. Now, try becoming economically comfortable in a non democratic country.
