Winky is so right, and the lack of hits on the NHL forum just shows that even here at the RX, many overlook great betting oppurtunities, regardless of whether you like the sport, or sweating your game on tv.

And even if not a Pucks fan, it's Playoffs are absolutely on the wire.

IMO. The NHL playoffs while great to watch are much harder to handicap than NBA playoffs.

WOW that was a game!
Just about every Calgary game in these playoffs has been great.

Kipper makes the saves but he scares the sh*t out of me.

How about Gelinas. 2 OT series enders in same playoffs . I wonder if that has ever happened before.

it wasn't in the same playoffs - but it was back-to-back series enders for his team

2003 EC opening round. TB and Wash tied @ 1 in 3 OT. martin st. louis comes around behind the net and sticks one over kolzig's shoulder for the winner. i know this for i was waaaaaaaaaaaaaay down for the week to my "local" but had TB for the series and a 2-teamer with the lakers and tb that day. when st. louis scored - i was at my parent's house and when i saw it go in - i exploded in glee. pops came out and asked what the hell happened. how do i explain this to dad other than to say i won a few bucks on the game. because of this one goal, i went from being down several hundered to up for the week. honest!

flash forward to opening round of the 2004 EC playoffs. TB/NYI headed to OT in G5 - and who scored the GWG - st. louis!

as for betting hockey. if you KNOW what you are doing - betting the nhl is the easiest thing to do. the books know they get almost no action on it - so they hang weak and soft lines knowing few will know this and hit them hard. the books know they get more action on the NFL, NBA and MLB then the NHL - so they hang weaker lines knowing their liability is smaller.

go back to the 2003 nfl season. find the 1 game that had the least bet on it. find the nhl game in the 2003-04 season that had the most bet on it. i'll lay serious money on the fact the NFL game had more action - and it wasn't even close.

this just shows how much you can take advantage of weak NHL lines because they get so little play on them.

Maybe the NHL will improve soon. They are the first league to come to their senses and admit the regular season is too long. There is word of a proposal to reduce the season to 70 games. Couldn't be a better idea out there. All sports should shorten the seasons, except maybe NFL. But of course that costs money so hard to imagine it happening.

Hell, even in Vegas there used to be only two groups that took Hockey seriously, but I've been out of the loop for five years now, so I don't know what's current?

Yeah Bill good point. I love Hockey but the way the NHL does business really annoys me.

By the way TB and Cal are two of the big spenders in the NHL .QUICK GET A SALARY CAP!!!
