TURN TO ROMEO will take a lot of action for William White who is notoriously strong with 2 yr olds making their second start. The filly should have it all her way but I just find it suicide to play odds on favorites with baby maidens so we'll look elsewhere for value. MISS HILTON debuts for red hot barn and shows two nice, recent gate works.

This race looks to be entirely void of early foot. Especially with maiden claimers I tend to stick with the most likely pacesetter in a race like this so we'll go with FREE STRIKE. O'Connell has slotted her in here for probably her easiest race thus far - only needs a patient ride from Madrid.

The two horses I expect to be closing at the wire are ETERNAL TUNE and WESTERN PREMIER. The latter is just a little cheap so I'll go with TUNE. The fly in the ointment is TROMPOLINO who has some serious back class from his Cali days. I don't think he'll get an easy go of it up front, but if he does...uh oh.

Call me crazy but I look at the works and I think GIRL GONE CRAZY is the real deal. Most will think she's over her head this early in her career but that should only help us get a better price.

On paper, WILD HARBOR just looks so much the best. Certainly eligible to improve after a very strong debut run and any improvement would bury the rest of this field. Where will the value lie? Perhaps with AMERICAN CHEROKEE who exits the same race as HARBOR and needs to make up only 4 lengths at what could be triple the odds.

I made some notes on KRISACIA after her first Calder effort (looked strong in last 1/4) to back her next out if she fit. Well, she fits just fine here so there's no turning back now...

Last race of the day for me and I'm grabbing a price with KILLING FROST - Alonso's pattern with her suggests she's sitting on a career best effort today.
