WB makes a great point..it doesnt have to be flashy, effective , practical and consistent,,,,much more important...
Tanning salons are still not bad...it helps if you have a spouse though to work it...I would be afraid to put anymore than half my net liquid cash into anything...unfortunately I got started late, like a dumbass I wanted to be a pro soccer player and wasted my early adult years...to me its not so much about making a TON of cash, its working for YOURSELF and not having to answer to some schmuck boss...thats my motivation...its a nice feeling too....

We'd all love to find the perfect business. Low start up, low hours and high profits. Keep the ideas coming. We argue over politics, but we do have some of the sharper minds here in the political forum.
I have a friend that strongly believes in a pool (swimming pool) supply business in the right area. He plans to open one next year, so I'll see how that goes. He says the mark up is incredible and he'll make a bundle sending a kid or two out to clean pools.

I own an advertising company that started by doing graphics work for my parents' business. They told two friends and so on. As WB discusses, you start in your spare time, and go from there. I owned a bar at the time (sold it since) so had flexible hours which was nice. Just make sure it's something you like or you won't last. That's been the hardest part for me .. the self-discipline.
