killed in the war on April 7. His name was Sami Mikhael Amin Al Shammas.
He died when cluster bombs exploded near our house in Al-Saidya distract in Baghdad and a piece hit him. I was told that 13 more people were killed in our street alone.

My father was born in Baghdad in June 1933 and lived all his life there. He had a degree in accounting and finance from the University of Baghdad and worked as a financial manager until the day before the war started in March. He loved his work and although he had been retired since the early 90s he kept working all this time.

He got married in 1966 to my mother, Suoad Hanoosh, a teacher from Basra. I was born in 1967, then my brother Bashar in 1970 and my sister Zina in 1976.

They were the most loving parents, who tried their best to raise us in a warm loving family. Although we were raised as Catholics my parents never made us feel that we were any different from any other religion and most of our friends were Muslims.

- Ali Hamdani, 20, Hussein Hamdani, 18, Mohamed Hamdani, 9
The three Hamdani brothers were killed in an explosion in a market in the Shu'ala area of Baghdad on March 30.

- Ali Nasaf, 6
Ali Nasaf, was killed in a missile attack on the Bab al Muadan telephone exchange in Baghdad on March 31. His mother, Lamia, 31, told the Daily Mail: "Even the doctors and nurses cried when he died. They remember him as the boy who played football in the streets and always laughed."

- Ali, 20, Hussein, 18 and Mohammad Abed, 11
Three sons of Sumaya Abed were killed by shrapnel in their home in al-Shula, a Shia neighbourhood in Baghdad, on March 29. Sumaya was pregnant with the 11-year-old during the 1991 Gulf war.

- Karar Khodier, 11
The son of Arouba Khodier, Karar died outside his house in al-Shula, a Shia neighbourhood in Baghdad, on March 29.

- Mohammad Ahmed, 4
Mohammad Ahmed was killed by shrapnel in Radwaniyeh, Baghdad, on April 2 in a missile attack. His three sisters, including Aisha, 8, brother, mother and father were all injured.

- Mohammed, 13, Mohaned, 18, and Akmed Abdul Hussein, 7
The three boys died on March 31 in a missile or bomb attack in Al Amiin in the south of Baghdad, a modest residential area, heavily populated by families and children. One of the boys was killed as he was walking to his uncle's home on the street in front of one of the houses. Another was outside his home and the third was in a patio area.

- Rowand Mohammed Suleiman, 8 months
On April 11, Mohammed Suleiman, a 47-year-old engineer from Baghdad, lost his eight-month-old daughter Rowand after his son Seif brought home a device that he believes was an American cluster bomb.

- Samar Hussein, 13
Samar, who died on March 29, lived in the village of Manaria in Iraq's Mohammedia district, a lowland area about 30 miles south of Baghdad.

- Wael Sabah, Noor Sabah, 12, Abdel Khader, 10
Wael lived in Baladiyat, an eastern suburb of Baghdad, with her daughter Noor and son Abdel. On April 9 a missile from a low-flying fighter plane hit their home, killing Noor and Abdel instantly.

- Fatehah Abdullah, 8
Fatehah was part of an extended family of farmers based around her uncle's home near Diala Bridge, a suburb of Baghdad.

- Abas Khalid Hussein, 2
Abas, who died of gunshot wounds on April 7, was born in 2001 to a Shia family in their busy, child-filled home in the Baghdad district of Bayaa.

- Marwa, 11, Tabarek, 8, and Safia Abbas, 5
Marwa, Tabarek and Safia, who were confirmed dead on April 13, lived in the Baghdad suburb of Awa, a working-class area inhabited mainly by poor Shias.

Moustafa Akram Hamoodi, 13
Moustafa, who died on April 5 alongside his brother Zain and his sisters Ihab and Zina, was known as the second genius of the family, the first being Zain.

Hassan Ayad Hamoodi, 9
Hassan, who died on April 5, was the second son of Ayaad Abid Hassan, an oil engineer, and his wife Fatamah. His nickname was the Small Controller.

Zina Akram Hamoodi, 12
Zina, who died on April 5 alongside her brothers Zain and Moustafa and her sister Ihab, was the beauty of the family.

Noor Al-Huda Saad, 4 months
Noor was the only child of her mother Ihab, who also died in the missile attack on the Hamoodi's family home on April 5.

Amaar Al-Huda Saad, 3
The second youngest of the Hamoodis' many grandchildren, Amaar was the most spoilt and most charming of all the children who spent their time in the huge, airy family house in Basra.

hmmm....big brother reffering to someone as hitler. The twisted irony.

This isnt propaghanda....it is actual accounts of children who died because Bush has to hide his sexual inadeqacy behind a bunch of missles.

Looks like big brother is either a cia employee or buys every bit of the cia dis-information spewed by the press.

I'll take 1st hand info over any filtered and approved news from the controlled news services.

Maybe big brother really is "big brother"

Yep, Grantt, chonce, & gbm. we can only hope that the hands of time could be turned back. Back to the glory days of Saddams rule. A time when Iraq's children and their parents were "safe". Keep the faith fellas, maybe one day your favorite dictator will return triumphantly and save the Iraqi children from a life of free will.

Razz,

Are you missing something here? The above children are dead from American missles. Victims of a war that could of easily been prevented, and was opposed by most of the world.

It is possible to be against Bush's foreign policy, and not be pro-saddam. Some of us CAN walk and chew gum at the same time. Not everyone is assimple-minded as our ass-clown of a President.

the fact that we had to go overthrow iraq because they were a threat to united states was TOTAL BULLSHIT

iraq had no milertary to defend anything

where are the weapons of mass destruction?

iran and north korea =states they have weapons & proven that they have weapons of mass destruction = america diplomatic talks

iraq states they dont have weapons of mass destruction and america cant find any= america goes to war and overthrow

?????????

true reason why war

u s was losing war against bin laden
still cant find him
are they going to?

u s can however destroy a state, a country

iraq no weapons of mass destruction + no proven connection between iraq and bin laden= war????

i love this country and i love the couragous men and woman who died that should not of

was 2 more weeks of diplomatic talks and inspections too much

i still have my family but how about those families who lost thier son, daughter, father or mother

icon_confused.gif
Why not the world? Or are you gonna jump to that conclusion later? Oh, thats right, your party doesn't believe in parental responsibility. It's just easier to sit back and blame the government for all their ills. Mexicans and others are dying by the dozens in the back of box trailers to have such a life of "poverty". The difference between them and those that sit back and wait for government handouts is that they are willing to work to support themselves and their families. Their are more than enough programs in this country, both government controlled and in the private sector, to give people a leg up while they are going through hard times. The sad fact is, is that some people just don't care. I know, I know, thats George's fault too.

chonce, "walking and chewing gum at the same time", another one of those infamous Bill Mahr(sp) pearls of wisdom. Two months ago, if your favorite dictator didn't like children blowing bubbles, he and his henchmen might have had to have a "friendly" chat with the kids and their parents. The difference now is, is that if the children of Iraq want to walk and chew gum at the same time, they can. And unlike living under Saddam and his cronies, if the kids don't like the conditions that they are living under, they can walk up and spit that gum in the nearest G.I.'s face. You can shout from the rooftops about not "supporting" Saddam. But the fact that you would still have the children of Iraq "living" under his rule speaks volumes.

Well why doesnt Bush go dismantle every dictatorship in the world then?

By the way the children listed above will sadly, not be walking or chewing gum ever again.

They died in the name of cheaper gas prices. God bless America right?

...so it goes.

What is amusing is the Democrats didn't give a rat's ass about Iraq's kids when it came to lifting the sanctions against Iraq in the 90's. Now that someone has actually unlocked the Iraqi economy, the left is carping about the unfortunate deaths caused during war.

That's why they have no credibility. Keep talking Grantt.

The death of children is NOT a bi-partisan issue. This pissing contest that going on beetween the 2 wings is counter-productive and clouds real issues. (Such as the death of children)

Gee Chonce, if you think the pissing match is counterproductive, why bother engaging in it?

As for the real issue, we all know what it is. The left hates Bush. Anything that goes wrong in the world, be it sleet in Seattle, heat in Haiti or rampaging rodents in Rotterdam, Bush will get the blame. "The Boy Who Cried Wolf" apparently was never read by the left wing; obviously they haven't gotten its lesson.

Madeline Albright said in 1996 that a half million children dying in Iraq is the price that must be paid to keep Iraq in line. Do we have a list of those kids' names and how they died?
Of course not. Stalin said "one death is a tragedy, a million deaths are a statistic". Looks like you agree.

Shotgun,
The fallacies in your statement are so many, that I couldnt possibly get to them all.

FOr one, I am not on the left wing. I challenge you to find any evidence to the contrary. I have never voted for a democrat in my life. So, for me anyways, this is not about the left hating Bush as you suggested. It is about me fearing what he has done to my civil liberties, and the innocent civillians of Iraq, as well as any of our troops who died.

How the hell do you suppose I agree with Stalin? You just assumed I was on the left, and assumed I support Madeline Albright in 1996. Why did you make these assumptions? Probably because you are so caught up in the bi-partisan nature of our country, that you start speaking about how "the left did this" or "the left did that", whenever your precious leader is questioned. Well you know what, the left wing irritates me as much as the right, because many who are on it, are as blindy loyal to the democrats, as you seemingly are to George "600 on his SATS" Bush.

Thank you for proving my point about how are country is brainwashed by this whole democrat/republican thing.

REMINDER: I am not a democrat. I will not even try to defend thier past misgivings because it is not relevant to a discussion about the innocent dead children, that our President killed. If you recall this thread was about them until you turned into a bi-partisan pissing contest.

it's a typical no argument strategy chonce: name calling, polarising, accusing others of thing they did not mention, all that in order to avoid adressing the point, it's the story of this forum...

Chonce:

In three separate replies in this thread alone you say, A) Bush killed children to hide his sexual inadequacy, B) killed children to keep gas prices cheap and C) called Bush an ass-clown.
Maybe you should delete your previous personal attacks IN THIS THREAD before you climb on your high horse of moral superiority.

Your comments reflect an attitude prevalent among the Bush-hating crowd. If you don't like being lumped in with the left wing of the country, tone down the juvenile rantings a bit.

And Chonce, the deaths of millions of Iraqis the last twelve years won't be minimized by me. You may ignore it all you want, but to say it isn't relevent to this debate is absurd.
