“Brett Favre played the MNF game the day his dad died, threw 4 TDs in the first half and was a legend for playing in the face of adversity,” wrote the author of the official 54Urlacher account on Instagram. “NBA players boycott the playoffs because a dude reaching for a knife, wanted on [a] felony sexual assault warrant, was shot by police.”

Few Giants said they will talk about sitting out a game, would be shocked if that happened

Athletes are stupid. Unless you find a few that agree with your view point. Then you quickly start a thread about it. Can't have it both ways.

I do wonder how Favre feels about his name being used to prove a point. I wonder if Urlacher bothered to ask before he sent the tweet.

Thank you so much Urlacher! This is a breath of fresh air in today's climate. And the majority of people agree with you.

Don't worry we got time to go.
Maybe some other black person gets shot...the media lies. The narrative "they didn't need to do that" Injustice. Doesn't matter the reality
It was racist
Outrage again ensues

I get your point wood...

I am just saying these athletes sitting out a few games is about as helpful to the issues as any of us posters sitting out a few days at TheRx...

Do they think that the issues have not been brought to the public's attention?

It has...so now instead of protesting etc...let's hear some REAL tangible ideas of how we change this...

All we hear is "This stuff has to change"..."Ok understood, what are your ideas of changing it"?..."Uhhhh get rid of police"..."uhhh get rid of Trump he racist"...face)(*^%

What career out of football? I am sure he will still be the poster boy for that fake hair company and that rug he has been sporting since he retired.

Outside of that, i am not sure who was ever beating down Brian Urlacher's door.

The problem is likely, athletes are voicing their opinion and it’s only one side of an opinion. If you address these opinions on another side for topic of conversation then you are crucified and a racist. Some opinions may be right or wrong. Some may agree and disagree. Do you think more simple compliance with police would reduce a bunch of this? Do you think anyone is voicing “we also need to better inform the community that compliance with police is a problem to many of these situations. We need more a accountability for actions of the public. By bringing more awareness to this, we stand a better ability to showcasing the problems with police that need change.”

You can’t go around telling people to clean their room if you aren’t cleaning yours.

Take Kenny Smith, walks off set because of the NBA and his disgust of what happened to Mr. Blake. If it bothered him so much why did he wait? Where were his actions several days ago. Wanted his look at me moment also?

Will the NFL have the balls to cancel week 1? Just because they aren’t playing now is no excuse. Why not go ahead and announce their support of this situation.

Lets be real, all these non black athletes are by the vast majority doing a simple action to cover their ass or do their so called part. And the minute they leave it’s back to behind closed doors and talking about black people always crying about something.

The vast majority of black athletes are doing the same and talking about how it’s all for show and the privilege white cave beast is just putting on a show.

More action by the leagues and owners? How about they announce at random times no games this week. No pay checks also. It’s community outreach time and we are going to do physical pound the pavement work for change. Now wait a minute, what players are going to be onboard with that? Some very likely. Players are calling shots on what the league and owners should do. But you flip that script and it’s a different story.

The fake BS is what gets most fans fired up. Majority of this is all for show and it’s clear as day. Everybody cares about people, till the moment it affects you personally. Then it becomes not your problem.

The NBA players should donate their salary to the family instead of sitting out the game.
