Long shot day at Keeneland - here's a bunch of 'em to look at.
R1 - #2 Kupp (30-1) I understand the Baffert horse is the obvious winner here, but at 30-1 I would rather be on this guy. Solid works leading up to this hint at a much improved effort off the debut at CD.
R2 - #3 Messier (4-1) Another strong looking Baffert starter - I think the way to bet him is exactas over the #2,#6, and #14.
R3 - #6 Chain of Love (20-1) Wow, wide open race sets up for a crazy finish with the late runners flying home. Why not take a price with a deep closer that has been racing against the boys?
R4 - #7 Arrest Me Red (15-1) I would probably be on the Appleby #1 except for the lousy post. Red is 3 for 3 at 5.5f and is definitely rounding into peak form.
R5 - #2 Simplification (15-1) Race just screams boxcars. Too many question marks with the favorites. I'll go with Saez and a more patient trip than Paco gave him in the Pa Derby.
R6 - #12 Moira (10-1) I get that she's been facing only Canada-bred foes, but she's made them all look like Puerto Rican-breds (apologies to my PR friends). Post is a nightmare, but I can't wait to see her storm home.
R7 - #9 Jackie's Warrior (4-5) Move along, nothing to see here. However, I like both #10 and #11 to possibly crash the party.
R8 - #6 Ivar (15-1) Major jockey upgrade for a million dollar winning miler who's ALWAYS in the picture at the finish.
R9 - #8 Society (6-1) Did she peak in the Cotillion? I don't think so.
R10 - #4 Broome (12-1) Just missed at Del Mar in this race last year under Irad (gets him again today). Excellent effort in the Sword Dancer at Saratoga this summer as well. My best bet of the day.
R11 - #7 Olympiad (10-1) Ok, let me just say I LOVE FLIGHTLINE and will be rooting for him to crush this field "Secretariat-style". But, if he missteps, Olympiad is nails on a fast surface. Could be a nice payoff.
R12 - #6 Henrietta Topham (20-1) I know she's cheap and overmatched, but she almost won a Gr 3 at 13-1 with Gage Holmes aboard, what can T-Gaff get out of her?
