I hate Goodell but you have to realize why it's hard for some people to buy into the fact that the NFL is just out to get the Patriots. The Patriots are good for the NFL. Kind of like the Yankees in baseball. And Robert Kraft is probably the most respected owner in the NFL or at least one of the most respected. Brady has been the face of the NFL for a long time. Why would they go after them if there wasn't something there. Personally I am so sick of hearing about this shit I just want it to end. There's an argument to be heard on both sides. Roger got his start in PR (Public Relations) of NFL, he is an "old PR Guy". His mind defaults to choosing a course that is gonna paint Him in the best light rather than the most intelligent course of action. Like a Pride-filled Dictator, Roger's Default setting is to do what will best serve Roger.
He saw this as a way to atone for bungling the Ray Rice Incident, to show the Public that He and The Commissioner's Office are "strong".
Like a guy lost in the forest starting a small fire for heat and to hopefully alert searchers to where he is so he can get rescued, Roger also hoped this situation would bring even more Worldwide Press attention to The Super Bowl...his PR Instincts at work. That small fire turned into a Raging Inferno. And like a bungling Dictator Roger again is left wanting...
