Keep going back to the press conference, you guys are something else.

so brady looked bad in a press conference when he was asked about things that were factual lies set out by his own league. Brady has to answer why 11 of 12 balls were significantly underinflated (ESPN/mortensen report). As anyone who has followed this, we know that was not true and the nfl knew it at that time but falsely leaked otherwise. League also knowingly sent a letter to the patriots stating similar incorrect facts. But lets pile on brady because he 'looked' bad. I'd love to see how you guys would 'look' if you are being bombarded by questions at your job about things that simply are not true.

Q. Hey Tom why 11 of 12 balls way underinflated!?!?
A. Um I really don't know guys.
Truth: 11 of 12 balls werent, and mortensen report false and since deleted.

Are you serious? That press conference was an embarrassment and he looked like a guilty fool.

I can't figure out why it's so hard for Brady lovers to just admit he likes a deflated ball and instructs the ball guys to put it at the weight he likes? What's the big deal in just admitting the obvious?

the punishment is probably too severe but argue the punishment then.....

jeez.....how many times does this team need to be involved in cheating before you guys can just say they cheat.

They are great without the cheating also but it's in their team dna

i was going to post something like this. Watching that press conference live, I thought Brady was guilty as hell, kept saying 'I don't know, I don't know.' But then months later, the correct information was reported. It doesn't seem that out there that he really didn't know. The reporting on the balls psi was incorrect. Everything that has been reported (before July),for the most part, was incorrect, he didn't have any contact with those ball boys until after the colts game.

i think this 50k fine is just more bad reporting, as I don't see this being the case. They want him to admit guilt, agree with the Wells Report, so they don't look like schmucks for wasting 5 million, even though it seems they do not have anything on him.

I thought he should've defended himself with far more defiance in the presser back in January.

Just because if you're questioning him on if he cheated then you're basically questioning his character as a man. I understand that how even keel he is has a lot to do with why he is 1 of the best players but if he was more defiant in that press conference I think the public wouldn't be so skeptical of him now. Which in the grand scheme of things doesn't really mean anything, but just for his own legacy and how he is perceived.

Breaking news: Twitter reporting no good

NEW YORK (AP) The judge presiding over the "Deflategate" legal case says there is no deal, but talks continue in an effort to settle a dispute over a four-game suspension of New England quarterback Tom Brady.
Federal Judge Richard Berman said at the start of a hearing Wednesday in Manhattan that he hopes to decide the case by Sept. 4 if there is no deal.

HA HA HA I looked at that guy's twitter and he was all "why isn't Adam Schefter confirming this!?" and "why am I the only one reporting this?"

Since some reports now say Brady is willing to accept a suspension purely based on not cooperating it will be interesting to see how the NFL reacts. Judge Berman has already put out there HE wouldn't accept the Wells report, so maybe this gains favor with him if the NFL says no to it.

Finally, we know the loser in Tom Brady vs. the NFL: brevity.
For all of those who hoped for a short battle and swift compromise, believing that logical heads had to prevail, you've been crushed. Barring some last moment epiphany between a gang of attorneys who are becoming richer by the day, Brady vs. the NFL will be placed in the hands of U.S. District Court Judge Richard M. Berman on Wednesday. And no matter what Judge Berman decides (or when he decides it), Brady's travel plans made the only declaration that matters. He left New York on Tuesday with no settlement. And no settlement means no end in sight.

Instead, attorneys from the NFL Players Association and league office will trudge into a courtroom Wednesday and explain what we already know – that the two sides can't come to an agreement despite being instructed to do exactly that. Then they will answer questions from Berman, poking their heads out of entrenched positions and repeating the same beaten-to-death talking points. Perhaps Berman will voice his displeasure, and maybe even tip his gavel toward one side with a specific line of questioning. Even then, we ultimately won't know his decision for days or weeks. And even when we do, it will be prologue to the next wave of paper pushing.

Consider each outcome and what it is likely to inflict:
• The NFL wins. The court sides with commissioner Roger Goodell. It affirms that Goodell properly conducted Brady's appeal within the language of the collective-bargaining agreement, and correctly applied his powers to censure the quarterback. Brady then appeals and seeks an injunction allowing him to play until there is a resolution to his appeal. The legal process starts over again and potentially drags on months (or longer).
• Brady and the NFLPA wins. The court sides with the quarterback and union, deciding that Goodell did not properly conduct Brady's appeal, and/or misapplied his power as it pertained to the language of the CBA. The NFL appeals, but Brady plays until there is a resolution to the league's appeal. The legal process starts over again and potentially drags on months (or longer).
• The NFL and Brady both lose. The court sides with neither, but determines that for some reason, Brady's appeal was not handled properly under the language of the CBA. The court would then strike down Goodell's previous decision and order both sides back to the drawing board for another appeals hearing. In this case, the court would be expected to spell out the specific problems with the previous appeal and state the need to remedy them. This would likely be faster than an appeal in the court system, but would take time to once again get the process up and running. And it could once again result in Brady's suspension being upheld, which could (once again) trigger another court battle on the basis of nitpicking CBA language.
In any one of those scenarios, it's hard to see this being resolved in 2015. As the judge stated early on in this case, settlements are far more fruitful routes in cases that are fought inside the language of a CBA. Simply from the standpoint of money, it's usually the only way both sides can win.
But winning appears to be more important than spending for these two sides. And maybe for that reason alone, deflate-gate will drag on far beyond Wednesday.

There is no deal.

This whole "report" was some guy on Twitter making it up. People in his feed were asking what is his source and he never responded.

hating really does make one blind, only plausible explanation for looking at the weight of the evidence and thinking what they think

"if" the appeal is accepted, Brady will be completely exonerated

I'll take any and all action

and "if" the appeal is accepted and the facts of the case actually come into play, Roger gets another legal reprimanding, he gets spanked yet again

"if" the appeal is accepted and the case goes to court, the NFL may very well wind up with a new (and much less powerful) commissioner next year.

begging the question, which is what detractors have to do

can't cite facts in their entirety, so they pick and choose and ignore the weight of the evidence

it's like debating truthers, they think a mole hill is larger than the rocky mountains (although that analogy is not a perfect fit given the facts and circumstances, it still does tell the story)
