Wow..you think she might do a year or more?
I wonder how much value Martha would place on a year off of her life...a year off of the life of a very rich middle-aged woman. Her time is extremely valuable.
The risk/reward in this case is porportionate to me risking a year in jail to steal a candy bar from a grocery store.
I think she did this out of arrogance. She's used to doing whatever she wants, when she wants. People that have power of her stature sometimes forget the laws apply to them too.
