1st up ... Brazil

Fluminense vs Corinthians - this is the standout bet of the round. Both teams with horrible defenses and strong attacks though 7 straight meetings have ended under. Emerson Leao takes over as Timao coach missing two fullbacks and his keeper which will not help the 3rd worst defense in Brazil. Timao's goal scoring problems have taken a backseat with the return of their WC players but their defense remains a huge problem and against a great Flu attack they will allow some goals. Flu have scored in all but one of their last 7 games and in 8/8 home games and have allowed goals in 8 straight games (17 in their last 7 games!). Flu missing two starting defenders, Thiago Silva and Marcelo, but will have Lenny back up front with Tuta. Certainly a game where goals are expected and I will take a decent stake for the over. Flu/Timao over 2.5 goals 6/10 @1.826 (pinn, 1.80 pointbet, 1.75 ibc/10bet)

Palmeiras vs Juventude - Verdao trashing everyone since the WC break, 5-1-0 15/5, with 4 wins by 2+ goals and 3-0-0 9/4 at home. Juventude night and day home vs away, and have lost 4 straight on the road and 1-0-6 overall. Palmeiras have won all 4 meetings since returning to Serie A, 4-0-0 11/4, and look almost unstoppable right now. Verdao without two players for the match, Wendel and Daniel, while Juventude will Fabio, Ederson, Marcio Rozario, Ze Rodolpho, and Marcel (all but Marcel list last match too). Tite has Palmeiras playing the best football in Brazil and Juventude are a midtable team, at best. This line should be a full goal. Palmeiras -3/4 5/10 @1.905 (ibc / pointbet)

Santos vs Cruzeiro - unders have not been going so well for me lately but gotta give this one a shot. We have the two best defensive teams in the league in this one and even more defensive in the home/away situation we have here. Santos just 4 home goals allowed and 3-4 o/u on the year at home. Cruzeiro huge goals stats at home but a world of difference away. Home matches avg 3.33 gpg but away just 1.85 gpg including 6 straight unders. H2H's are all overs so, again, a bet against history. More limited stake than stats suggest because new Cruzeiro coach Oswaldo de Oliveira will form a 3-attacker lineup though he'll be without strong midfielders Jonilson and Wagner. Santos/Cruzeiro under 2.5 goals 3.5/10 @2.15 (pointbet, 2.13 pinn, 2.09 ibc)

American pricing for those matches:
Fluminense over 2.5 goals $600/495.60
Palmeiras -3/4 goal $500/452.50
Santos under 2.5 goals $350/402.50

now for MLS midweek

Red Bull NY vs DC United - I liken DC United's situation to the Indy Colts...they have wrapped up a playoff spot so quickly it almost renders the rest of the regular season meaningless. But, they are pros and I'm sure the effort will be there but after that loss in RSL I have reasons to be skeptical. Neither team have played an MLS match since July so rest is not an issue. NYRB come in on a 4-match unbeaten streak, 3-1-0, and this will be Bruce Arena's 1st official match coaching the club. Arena is simply the winningest American coach in history with 5 NCAA titles, 2 MLS titles, and 8 years as US National Team coach. While I personally think he's a smug prick he is an excellent coach and the Red Bulls players should be well disciplined, particularly on defense. NYRB have just signed Dema Kovalenko, a tough, strong, and aggressive midfielder who's been playing with Zapirzhya in Ukraine and who's been one of the best leaders in the MLS while with DC United. IN 7 years with DC and Chicago he's scored 34 goals + 34 assists so he has plenty of talent to go with grit and will help the Red Bulls in midfield. While it's obvious DC are the better team I think Arena's presence will elevate the Red Bulls in this one and a point or 3 is certainly possible. DC with a dominating 8-2-1 record in the last 2 years against NY including a 4-1 win here back in April but my $ goes on the home team. RBNY +1/4 3.5/10 @1.926 (pinn, 1.91 10bet/pb) American pricing = $350/324.10

Chicago Fire vs KC Wizards - what an awful run for the Fire. After their tremendous roadtrip to start the season they've thrown that away with a 0-2-3 span of home matches. At least here they will face the most out of form team in the league as KC has just one win in 10 games which was also their only game scoring more than 1 goal. They've also failed to score a goal in 5 away matches and lost earlier in Chicago this year 1-0. This is a huge match for the playoffs as Chicago are 3 points behind with 2 games in hand and just beat KC yesterday 2-0 to advance to the MLS Open Cup quarterfinals. Chicago are really a much stronger team than KC but their defense is so unpredictable and inconsistent that it is really tough to bet on them. Normally I'd take the Fire for at least a medium bet but they've burned me here in both the Dallas and Columbus matches so just a small one. Chicago Fire -1/4 2.5/10 @1.91 (pointbet, 1. 90pinn, 1.89 10bet) American = $250/227.50

btw interesting that the useless maggot DChosta is not calling me a "rude ass dick" like 4 days ago (see link below)

... if there is a moderator on this forum I ask you look through DChosta's posting background to find nothing but disparaging posts and absolutely nothing constructive ... seems like a person to ban if this is really a forum for bettors, not ignorant lurkers. Otherwise you will chase the real bettors away.

has nothing to do with "getting to me" ... simply any forum that prohibits that sort of behavior is nothing I need to be involved in. Any upstanding forum bans cockroaches like him/her immediately.

Thanks for posting to this forum. We need more punters like you.

This board is one of the best when keeping abusive posters under control. I'm afraid we don't get the mods to peek in here on a constant basis. If you feel that another poster is being abusive you can click on the "report bad post button" in that poster's reply to report them. The mods are pretty good about taking care of such things.

The button looks like this------->

FT Palmeiras [1 - 1] Juventude

Frustrating. Red Card in the 69th minute by Juventude, but Palmeiras couldn't pull out the victory.
