Back from exile after Rocky debacle.
Looking at Primeval its clear to me the number is too low. The estimated theatre count of 2000 has been bumped over 400 theatres to 2444. A significant increase like this suggests the company obviously believes it has picked up interest and of course means it needs less per theatre to surpass the posted total.
Even at 2000 I favoured the Over as several indicators of interest showed it could have a satisfactory showing (thats all it needs with this low number). It only needs a 3100 per theatre over this FOUR day weekend.
As far as the actual movie goes I concede it looks like it could be pretty bad. There have been limited screenings and thus hardly any reviews as of Thursday afternoon/evening now. Usually means they don't want the bad word out early. Still the bottom line here is the posted number is too low and I've already factored this in. Competition this week isn't the greatest as Alpha Dog and Stomp the Yard are the only other new releases but either is expected to do big money.
Anybody with opinions on this movie or the other releases tomorrow feel free to chime in.
