he was a senior who was gone anyway, so he had to be suspended no big deal for a bowl game anyway, it just gives the next man up a chance to get some playing time

MSU football players Green, Ward arrested
Sunday, December 13, 2015

STARKVILLE, MS

A pair of Mississippi State University linebackers were arrested early Friday morning at The Pointe.
According to Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Chadd Garnett and records at the Oktibbeha County Sheriff’s Office, redshirt freshman Gerri Green and junior DeAndre Ward were each arrested by the OCSD shortly after midnight.
Green was charged with possession of beer in a dry county, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest. Ward was charged with possession of beer in a dry county and disturbing the peace.
Both players bonded out around 1:30 a.m.
According to Garnett, a security guard at The Pointe called for assistance to shut down a party held in Green’s apartment at the complex near MSU’s campus. Green and Ward were the only ones arrested from the party.

note:
Green was one of Mississippi State's most valuable defensive players in 2015, while Ward contributed as well. Green, a redshirt freshman, was named to the SEC All-Freshman Team after finishing with 44 total tackles and one interception in 12 games.

University of Georgia Defensive End Chauncey Rivers Arrested

Georgia freshman defensive lineman Chauncey Rivers was arrested early Saturday morning for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, a misdemeanor charge.
Rivers was booked in the Athens-Clarke County jail at 1:12 a.m. on Dec. 12 with bond posted at $1,000. He was listed as "currently incarcerated" as of 2:15 a.m., according to Athens-Clarke County’s website.
This is the second marijuana-related incident for Rivers at Georgia. He and freshman linebacker Natrez Patrick were arrested on Nov. 4 on charges of misdemeanor possession of marijuana. The November arrest led to both players being suspended for Georgia’s game against Kentucky on Nov. 7.
A former four-star defensive end according to 247Sports, Rivers appeared in four games for Georgia in 2015. He recorded four total tackles over the course of the regular season.
UPDATE: Rivers was released on $1,000 bond at 2:54 a.m., per the jail's online record.

SEC SEC SEC!

Atlanta police said Ole Miss defensive lineman Robert Nkemdiche is in stable condition after a one-story fall at a local hotel.
After responding to a call that a male had fallen from a hotel room window at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, Atlanta police found the All-SEC draft prospect conscious and breathing and transported Nkemdiche to Grady Memorial Hospital.

Police reported to ESPN.com that the hotel room window was broken. The report adds that "it appears that the victim broke the window and then walked approximately 15 feet and climbed over a wall and fell approximately 15 feet."
Police reported finding a small amount of suspected marijuana inside the room.

so Nkemdiche went all Honey Badger....solid

On Sunday Ole Miss star football player Robert Nkemdiche fell from an Atlanta hotel room after breaking through double glass windows. Nkdemiche, who was taken to a hospital after the fall, was charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana following police's discovery of approximately seven rolled marijuana cigarettes inside the fourth floor hotel room.

Outkick has since learned that Nkdemiche's fall was the result of his use of synthetic cannabinoids -- frequently called "synthetic marijuana" or "fake weed" -- which has become an increasingly popular drug among athletes -- and college students -- because it doesn't show up on drug tests. Nkemdiche, after using the synthetic cannabinoids, was paranoid and convinced someone was chasing the 6'4" 296 pound defensive tackle when he broke through his hotel room windows and plummeted over fifteen feet to the ground. Had Nkemdiche not landed on a bush outside the hotel, his injuries would have been much more severe.

At the time he was loaded into the ambulance, Nkemdiche was so disoriented he was unable to provide his name, address, or any explanation for why he'd fled his hotel room.

Not a arrest or suspension, Duke safety Jeremy Cash, the ACC's defensive player of the year, will not play in the Pinstripe Bowl because of wrist surgery.
