I ask the book but am not upset if they won't cancel - no matter how much business I put their way.

SO LONG as they are not one of the pussies who routinely cancel my bets when they discover they were hanging a soft line.

I am fine with the "confirmed bets are final" policy SO LONG as it applies to BOTH sides equally.

Sick Gambler - whether I take the hit on the juice by playing the other side too depends on how much perceived edge I have.

If it was a grade A pick there is no way I will let it run on the wrong side because it is highly likely to have huge negative EV.

But if it was more marginal I'd probably just let it ride as you say. So far when this has happened to me - 4 times - it has always been a strong pick, I have always took the hit on the vig. and loaded up on my pick, and all 4 have won.

There are several steps to placing a wager online. There is always a confirmation screen where you can see the bets you made and then confirm that you do want to make those bets.

Just like on the phone, "the readback is final". If you change your mind later, bet the other side and pay the juice.

In sicks case, his books cancel his accounts.

In my experience the book has always been able to change or remove the bet.

But if they didn't I wouldn't blame them because it was me who verifeid the original bet.

Not hard to tell who the bookies are

Funny thing, these guys scream about "human error" and the "right" for a book to cancel an error ...
... but apparently they don't think that the humans that bet make human errors.

Now, of course, there is a FINE line here. If you make a mistake & call back immediately (and the line has NOT moved against you) then for a book to NOT appreciate human error make them SCUM IMO.

No two ways about it - ethical play is a TWO way street.
