Oh, the IRONY: this prick had the balls to claim 1st Amendment violations when the judge in his Stormy Daniels hit his dumb ass with a very specific kind of gag order, and here, he's trying to infring on those very rights against a lawyer that he thought highly enough of to hire. And, did the guy threaten him, the way Daughter Diddler does? Just gave his qualified legal opinion that Blubber Boy is gonna do time, oh, the HORROR!!!! This will get dismissed faster than Scary Puddle's appeals, lol.

Donald Trump threatened to sue his former lawyer Ty Cobb during a rant session on Truth Social this week. Trump claims that Cobb engaged in libelous speech when he said (multiple times recently) that Trump is likely going to end up in jail. But none of Cobb's statements meet the definition of slander or libel - he's expressing his opinion as a lawyer based on the facts available. Farron Cousins explains why Trump is always quick to threaten lawsuits but rarely ever wins them.

*This transcript was auto-generated. Please excuse any typos. Donald Trump is lashing out at his former lawyer, Ty Cobb. You know, the Mustachioed man who used to represent Donald Trump. And Trump is now threatening legal action, basically saying, I'm gonna sue you for libel because of the statements that Mr. Cobb has been making recently in the media. Here is what Donald Trump put on truth social this week following more comments from Ty Cobb. Ty Cobb is a disgruntled former lawyer who represented me long ago and knows absolutely nothing about the boxes hoax being perpetrated upon me by the DOJ for purposes of interfering with the upcoming 2024 presidential election where I am substantially leading all comers, including Republicans and Democrats. His words are angry, nasty, and libelous, only because I did not continue using him and paying him. And for good reason, he will be held legally responsible for his false statements. Wow. So I'm sure you're all wondering at this point, right? You're sitting there with baited breath on the edge of your seat. What did Thai Cobb say that would make Donald Trump be like, dude, I'm suing you for libel. Ty Cobb said that the recent release, you know, of the, the report of the audio of Trump bragging about the document, he said it eviscerates Trump's defense. And, uh, earlier last month, he actually said that he does believe that Donald Trump will go to jail like he believes he'll go to jail. The release of the report of the audio recording, according to Ty Cob, a lawyer suggests that Donald Trump's legal defense has been destroyed, which for the record is literally the exact same thing that I said when I did a segment about that. So you want to go ahead and pop me for libel too? Down here in Florida, we've got wonderful slap laws. I would love for you to try to sue me for libel, uh, because the slap laws would basically guarantee that, uh, your money would take care of my family for quite some time after I'm gone. So you want to try it, try it, big boy, because nothing that Ty Cobb said actually fits the definition of libel. So if you were to hit him with a lawsuit, he is going to counter sue you, and he is going to win it faster than you can comprehend. But this is Trump's mo. This is how Trump shuts people up. That's how so many on the right attempt to shut people up by saying, I'm gonna sue you for slander. I'm gonna sue you, Sue you for defamation, for libel, for whatever one it is, depending on the medium where you did it, I'm gonna sue you. You can't say that you can't be mean to me. Lawsuit, lawsuit, lawsuit. And gotta say, based on Donald Trump's legal record for the past 12 months, Do, do, do you, well, first of all, do you even have any members of your legal team left that have the capacity to take on another lawsuit of yours? Like, I don't think you do. And even if you did, would you really wanna trust those morons who continue fighting one another because you want them to fight each other? Do you think any of them would be able to competently handle this lawsuit? No. And part of the reason for that is because a lawsuit doesn't exist for what Ty Cobb has said. I mean, unless I've completely missed something where Ty Cobb went out there and alleged all this criminal behavior on your part. But from everything I have seen, Ty Cobb is only responding to the news of the day as a legal analyst because as a lawyer, he is considered an expert in that field. As a close former ally of yours, he's a little closer to you than you would like, but he hasn't said anything. Of course, that breaches attorney-client privilege. But go ahead and keep barking. Go ahead and threaten to sue every single person who thinks you might go to jail, because I can promise you at the end of it, you are going to lose a lot of money. And a lot of people who counters sue you are going to be very, very happy. But that's his mo threatened to sue everybody. And then when the chips are down and he actually has to do it, it typically doesn't work out in his favor.
