Black names !...

Why do black parents come up with such outlandish names ?

My favorite one is La-A, or Ladasha

I remember one time in Vegas we got really drunk at a bachelor party looking for our friend Doug.

instead we found a black guy named doug

we started to call him “black Doug”

My aunt taught a kid named shithead. Pronounced sha-heed.

I had a friend Aaron in the class

the sun kept pronouncing his name “A-Aron”

was really weird yet funny

Why do black parents come up with such outlandish names ?

Googled that one and looks like it started back in the 70’s with the Black Power movement....

Because they do NOT want to be part of the USA.
They do not want to abide by the rules of our culture.
They do not want to assimilate.
They want to be special.
Different.

• Names
• Music
• Clothes
• ... and more (think about it!).

Japanese family in our neighborhood, boys name is Dennis. Ancestors were in internment camp during WWII. They put their heads down, did their best, worked hard, got educations for their kids, got jobs, promoted a strong USA based family culture.
