I'm a Mets fan and my team made their first ever trip to Comerica Park this weekend.

What's up with all the birds?

During the two day games, there's been at least thirty birds on the diamond at any given time. Base hits routinely send a dozen birds scattering in the outfield. Twice I've seen time called because a bird is taking its sweet time walking between the plate and the mound. I'd say 75% of the time when a pitch is thrown on TV there's a bird either walking or flying in the frame.

This is nuts. They're big fat fuckers like in Hitchcock's The Birds too. Is this normal? Is this a year round thing? Any other AL parks have problems like this?

:WTF:

well met fan, it sure was an ass kicking wasn't it?

those birds are outside the park too, they are fat and bold...most birds fly away when you get too close, not these...they walk right up near you

Tigers were impressive. Especially Polanco. Why do the birds like it there so much?

Word is the birds were there to eat the moths that hang out in the grass. They have brought in an entomologist from Michigan State to do some research.

The same thing was going on during the Indians game last night. Hafner got a hit to left center in the eighth or ninth and about 50 birds went flying.

THE BIRDS ARE THE SPIRITS OF DEAD PEOPLE. THEY ARE THERE WATCHING THE VERLANDER NO-HITTER.....

TOMORROW, THEY WILL BE GONE....WOULD THAT BE SOMETHING?

I would like to see them employ the use of a terrier and chase the birds away. It would be a lot less livestock than what is on the field now.

Hmm. I was wondering about those birds too.

That would annoy the crap out of me

The best is the cat that runs out on field

That would be cool to see. I love seeing dogs at work. I would think it would be even more entertaining to have a dog on the field while the game was going on.
