Writing a bot to automatically make plays aint exactly rocket science here guys. A turing test would put an end to these overnight. Not sure why books don't use them at this point.

Wolf wolf wolf. You are constantly complaining about steam and how it doesn't win and on and on. If you think it doesn't win do us all a favor and stop betting it so we don't have to hear you complain about it every time you have a losing night. It's clear you have no concept of the long run.

I've had some very rough nights with this but I know enough to stick with it. At one point 3 weeks into January I was down about 5 units for the month betting CBB total steam. Rather than take my ball and go home I stuck with it, strung together a few good nights and finished a little over 11 units ahead for the month. I didn't bet college hoops on Superbowl Sunday, but Monday I went 1-4 in CBB totals and 0-4 last night, starting the month 1-8, -7.8 units just 3 days in. I didn't create whiny, crybaby threads about it. Instead I got back on the horse and bet again today. So far I am 10-2 on the night with 5 games to go, with 2 looking like winners, 2 looking like losers and 1 left to start. If you are gambling with an edge it will come back around.

Now, if you feel that beating the closing line is not an edge, fine. Don't do it. I would prefer that you didn't if it's going to make you start "Oh my God, the sky is falling" threads all the time. That said, beating the closing line is an edge. The only way it will ever not be a +EV strategy is if you believe that there are no big bettors or syndicates who are sharper than the linesmakers in this sport. There are. There always will be. Now, I am talking totals only as I do not bet sides with this but I believe the same principle applies.

Personally I think you should probably stop betting like this. I honestly do not think you have the emotional makeup for it. Many do not. I even struggle with it at times (especially compared to pros like Iceman who have ice water in their veins) I just do not struggle with it publicly.

Curse me out if you must but just know that I am in fact trying you help you.

PS-- No hard feelings buddy.

Insulting me throughout your post and then telling me you are trying to help me? Please, Id rather you piss on my head and tell me it is raining! Theres always got to be one jackass that gotta start throwing insults and bashing all the time....quite frankly Im surprised it was you b/c I always enjoyed sharing info with you but the hell with you now. It's funny that you were hanging from Icemans left testicle a couple of years ago..... hanging on his every word and begging him to post the plays he was moving on.....now you are a sharp, steam chasing, line beating, value shopping expert. All I did was say #1 how hard it was this year to beat the closing number as compared to the past couple of years....now that I was booted from one book and the others have gotten faster moving their numbers and #2 In my prior thread, simply how poorly beating the moves have done this year. Please do me a favor and save your expert analysis by staying out of my thread.

PS-- No hard feelings friendo.

Had a big reply typed up and before I could submit reply Firefox got all fucked and shut down.

The short version was simply that you are clearly an angry, emotionally unstable person. The kind who screams at the TV and throws the remote when a player fouls with 2 seconds left down by 8 to send the game over, who yells and berates opponents in poker when they crack your AA with 74 and who gets emotionally attached to individual bets, which is the hallmark of someone who is unable to focus on the longrun. Of course every game you lose is fixed too. You seem like a very immature person, too immature to keep your emotions in check while gambling.

I never claimed to be super sharp. I win a variety of ways, steam betting being one of them. It's no secret I am a fan of Ice's, as he took me under his wing and showed me that posting his plays wouldn't benefit me, but showing me HOW he made his plays would. And yes, of course I am grateful for that.

Betting steam has gotten harder but is not impossible nor even that difficult. Just not as easy as it once was.

And as for steam doing poorly this year, my results beg to differ: 12.24% ROI over 431 bets.

Like I said, this is just totals, haven't touched sides. If you're having a losing year on totals you're doing something wrong.

And yes, I will try to stay out of your threads from now on, although it will be tempting to razz you, since unlike a rational person, you get genuinely mad over discussions on an internet forum (Illini being case in point). Again with the lack of emotional control...

EDIT: And yes, I am trying to help you. I think it is -EV for you to gamble. I have no idea if you win or not. It doesn't really matter, as it is clearly causing you so much aggravation that it is -EV for your life/health/sanity.

PS I had the Nebraska over 120.5. It landed on 108. It must've been fixed.

Bro, you have no idea who I am and from your detailed description Id have to say you just described yourself.

For your information, I rarely watch the games I bet (with the exception of the NFL games).

Illini is another one who comes into my threads to mix it up. We bust balls a little but I got no problem with him.

Im not gonna waste my time disecting the rest of your post but if you believe all NFL games are legit then thats your problem. Have a good night.
