Kershaw has a history of -- shall we say a "delicate" situation regarding his
arm health? -- so maybe he felt something pop.

Otherwise, it's a pussy move by the manager.

Yeah, the "protecting" pitchers' health HAS been getting outta hand for years now,
regardless of the reason behind THIS move.

It's a disgrace to the Great Game that they did not give hm the ball if and until he broke.

A perfect game is such a rare and special pitching wonder. I don't care if there were never record books, the fans should have been treated to smething very, very special and Kershaw should have been able to complete what must be the dream of every pitcher who has ever started a game at any level.

Money has ruined sports.

Read over 220,000 games and just 23 perfect games… I always thought managers lose more games with their thinking. Tend to overthink especially former players?

6.5 million salary, imagine tonight will be easy for him to go to sleep with Reds coming to town….

On side note Chop…

I met Drew Brees. Outstanding person! Sure you’re glad he went for a ride with Sean Payton after Chargers let him go. Very interesting man.

From what I understand, this is not the first time this manager has done something like this. Has pulled pitchers in the past on no hitters and perfect games. Kershaw doesn’t seem to have a problem with it either. The season is a marathon, not a sprint. Probably was the right call for the team.

Lol at armchair QBs on this forum that know nothing about sports or politics etc but constantly run their mouths off.

Kershaw has dealt with many injuries. It's the start of the season and it's a LONG season. They are obviously expected to be in the playoffs too. So who cares about the complete game. He might get the perfect game broken by a bloop single in the 8th inning so what? He might tear something giving it too much because he wants the perfect game so badly. So what?

Good move puling him.

Morons talking about snowflakes this and that. Lol. Sitting at home with their fat potbellies and out of shape bodies judging highly paid athletes and coaches. Can't make this shit up. Lol.

You do realize he agreed to come out right? At the end of the 6th inning Kershaw and Roberts discussed the situation and decided he would pitch one more inning or up to 85 pitches. The decision had nothing to do with money. It was the right decision to make.

It’s a potential perfect game…I don’t know a pitcher worth his salt to come out….like to see a manager pull out Bob Gibson,Jack Morris, randy Johnson,or Tom Seaver….

That’s why you’re some lowlife who spends all day on an Internet forum all by yourself. You’re not a team player. You’re just a selfish asshole who only thinks about himself. Classy decision decision by Kershaw to think of his team and the big picture. Assholes like you and a few others on here wouldn’t understand that kind of thinking.

His legacy besides being a great pitcher is also failure late in the season due to his constant back problems, he's a pros pro type of guy and a smart dude...good move maybe he'll be around for the post season this year while still having a live arm.
