Bayern in real trouble here. They are an attacking team by nature who apparently will try to play with Barcelona. With their shoddy defense and open play I worry how many goals they'll concede. This could be a horrible humiliation for the Bavarians. Bayern Munich will also miss a few key players. Central defender Lucio, veteran midfielder Van Bommel and striker Klose. All three are experience players who would start if healthy.

Barcelona is the best attacking side I've ever seen. They average a ridiculous 2.93 goals per game in La Liga. Keep in mind almost every team they come up against plays very defensive. Now they will play an opponent who won't stack numbers behind the ball.

Barring any unusual lineup surprises I'm convinced Barcelona will score at least 3 goals, perhaps many more. Expect something like Barca 4/5-1/2.

absolutely agree, pound barca HARD. bayern might get a goal, but barca will get 3 or 4. bayern's defense is very very porous

Went a little crazy on this one, tried my luck with some "exotic" wagers like O4.5/5.5/6.5 and Barcelona to score 4+ goals. Might be a game you can maximize profits with. Main bets are Barca -1.25, O3, and Barca O2 goals.

Hopefully it works out the way we envision it.

Another huge blow to the defense of Bayern Munich. I just read on their website, that Lahm was ruled out for todays match against Barca. Lahm is one of the best left backs in europe. He should take care of Messi tonight and now he is out. Now Christian Lell is probably playing instead and he is one big joke. Messi will run circles around him all night long. This is a huge blow to Bayern Munic. Now they are missing with Lucio, Van Buyten and Lahm their complete defense. And with Klose out they are missing the leading scorer in CL. And just for further Info: German Newspaper Bild, who is usually good informed, is speculating about a goali change for Bayern Munich. Butt will Play instead of Rensing.

May be worth betting on a penalty at +250ish if you can find it. I feel like this Bayern backline will mistime a few challenges in dangerous areas against Messi and co.

*somebody just posted Schweinsteiger may not be able to go either. Good for the Barca bets but the Over's may be taking a hit here.

In my opinion the goali change is a upgrade. Rensing made the whole season horrible mistakes. He has lost alone at least 10 points for the club with his mistakes. Butt is an experienced goali who played already in the CL-Final 2002 against Real. And he is a very good penalty shooter. But on the other side it is also a risk, because you have already a complete new defense and now you put in a new goali who never played with this defense before. But quality wise it is a upgrade. The shoes of Kahn were the whole season way to big for Rensing.

Thanks to all who contributed to this thread. I rarely bet on soccer, but based on the info. here, I decided to play the over 3.0 for a nice winner. Much apppreciated.

Is Barcelona the favorite to win the Champions League?

it was man u or barcelona before this round..after the 1st leg (and the past couple EPL games) Barca will be big favs to win....

Barcelona is a +150 at bet365 to win it all. Considering they are the only one pretty much guaranteed to advance (never doubt liverpool until the final whistle) it is good value. Man U +400 is crazy good value - if they can get back on a roll and Rio back, they can still win it all.

But Arsenal wins it all so don't bother bet barca to win...haha...j/k.

Nice hit today guys. After reading the all those defenders out Barca-1.5 above even was a great play. If only Liverpool hadn't taken all the winnings back and then some.
