Lousy day posting live yesterday, but I like this card at Aqueduct. Hoping to recoup the losses. $20 Win ticket on each selection unless double-digit odds, then $10WP.
R1 - #1 Ragtime Prankster (15-1) Was eliminated at the break in debut after he got smacked around and Prat decided to just go for a glorified workout in the slop. But he gets the grass today and has a nice turf pedigree. The probable favorite (#12) would have to be MUCH the best to win from out there. So, it seems like a good race to take a shot.
R2 - #7 Charles J (7-2) On paper it looks like the 2,6,7,&8 all have an equal chance here. They'll all be on my horizontals, but for this race I'll take Prat in the stretch.
R3 - #1 Mo Plex (8-5) Reunited with Irad and, although Cox may have a superstar with Sacrosanct, this one has the maturity edge. Should be a fun battle to the wire.
R4 - #7 Boston's Phinest (12-1) Speaking of superstars, #3 With The Angels did something that always raises eyebrows - she won a stakes in her first try against winners and improved her Beyer +6 in doing it. I can't bet a 1-5 favorite, though. I'm just picking the second best filly.
R5 - #3 Venti Valentine (9-2) It all depends on Smokin' Hot Kitty setting blazing fractions (which I think she will). 2-3 straight exacta is probably the bet here but I'll be rooting for the #3 to get there.
R6 - #5 Golden Rocket (10-1) The last time she went turf to dirt on a fast track she won for fun. She'll be closing late for sure.
R7 - #2 Sherriff Bianco (6-1) He just loves to come in second, but I can't see the favorite (#3) going wire-to-wire against this group (famous last words). It's either this guy or the #1 that catches him.
R8 - #5 Caldwell Luvs Gold (5-1) She got a shitty ride in her first turf route try - in a Grade III stakes no less - and showed some promise anyway. This is a much easier field and she gets a solid jockey upgrade.
R9 - #1 The Spirit of St. Louis (6-5) The lock of the day.
R10 - #4 Bank Frenzy (3-1) Looks like a different horse since Rudy got him in his barn. I want so bad to take #8 Mama's Gold (15-1) here - I think he'll be in the thick of it - but just can't pull the trigger.
Good luck today - Go Pats, beat the Jets!
