Girlfriend: Cop Left Death Threats Over Nude Photos
Damon Bolden Was Allegedly Involved In Producing Photos For Internet Porn Site
DENVER -- A Denver police officer has been suspended after making death threats to a former girlfriend -- threats tied to a nude photo session with the officer.
On Friday night, 7NEWS' John Ferrugia obtained an exclusive recording that led to the charges against the officer.
Detective Damon Bolden has worked undercover in vice and narcotics but sources told 7NEWS that Bolden is also involved in producing nude photos for a fledgling porn Web site.
After a photo session with two women, including his former girlfriend, the women decided not to sign a release allowing Bolden to use the photos online. He was outraged, making phone calls to his former girlfriend, threatening her life, 7NEWS reported.
In one of the phone calls, he said, "I don't even need the DPD! I'll have my mother (expletive) cousin come over there and cut your back through the (expletive) fat meat!"
He made it clear in the voicemails that he was angry because the two women had changed their minds about their pictures.
"I don't want your pictures. I'm not trying to keep your pictures. I can't even use your pictures because you didn't sign no (expletive) contract, so as far as I'm concerned, we was out," he said.
He left several voice mail messages, including one that said, "Yeah, I see you didn't come outside, (expletive.) If you even at home. That's cool. Keep your lights off though. Keep your (expletive) head down. And you tell that meth (expletive) don't be threatening the (expletive) kingpin ... Threatening me? You two (expletive) threatening me? You two don't have enough fire power (expletive) to (expletive) threaten me. ... Talking about you're going to come over here and strongarm me? Talking about how you're going to come over here, you're going to witness me erasing some (expletive) and I better do it or else? You threaten me?? ... I'm down the street from your (expletive) house. Step out the porch and threaten me ... You step foot next to me. You step foot in my (expletive) crib. You step foot a 100 yards of my (expletive) house and it's on. And you (expletive) ain't got enough Goddamn power, you know what I'm saying?"
The woman involved said that she feared for her life and since he owned a gun and was an undercover vice and narcotics officer she thought he could really carry out his threats and that's why she contacted police. Police sources told 7NEWS that this is not the first time that Bolden has been under scrutiny by the DPD's internal affairs division.
Bolden was suspended last month, and if convicted of threatening to kill his former girlfriend, he could immediately lose his job as a police officer and would have to turn in his badge and his gun.
