So people, now that there is just one game left, what do you think was the worse 'bad beat' of the NFL season?

Saints missing the convert after that bizarre touchdown has to rate highly on my list. Anything worse that that one?

Dandy...how was the NO game a bad beat...the over/under? I don't recall the missed extra point affecting the point spread.

WC - The NO game was a bad beat IF you got the closing #(JAX -2 or 2-)and too JAX. If you got the opener, which I believe was Pick, it didn't matter. But a missed XP is a horrible way to lose.

The game would have gone OT.

Who knows?

Also the problem was the SH!T for BRAINS who was trying to strip the ball as the clock ran out. Just make the tackle and you win the game!

The extra point was not the problem!

Correct Packer. If Jax would've tackled during the runback, they win by 7 and nobody complains of a bad beat. What a crazy ending though.

Dandy called the missed extra point a bad beat, not the touchdown itself. The missed extra point would not have affected the line. Maybe that is what he meant.

WC - I guess it all depends on the # the bettor laid on JAX. Like I said it opened at pick and closed at 2 or 2.5. I would say Jax allowing that touchdown, then winning the game by 1pt. would be a bad beat and a lucky NO cover. But again, JAX

for ANYONE (like me) who had a teaser on the week 2 MNF game between nyg and dallas - and teased NYG down to "pick" range - this is the clear winner.

i had a 3-team teaser with nyg -1 as the final part. nyg kicks a fg to go up 3 with 11 seconds left after being down 15 earlier.

all nyg has to do is keep the kickoff on the field of play to win.

of course the schmuck kicks it OB. dallass gets it at the 40 - but w/0 time outs left. carter hits bryant for a long gain to the limit of cundiff's fg range - and he makes a 50+ fg to go to OT - and the dallass cowgirls win in OT.

for teaser players - not only the worst beat of the year - but one of the worst beats of all time!

The extra point by New orleans would have put the game into OT tied at 20. The total was 41 or 42, so it was extremely likely someone would have kicked a FG and put the total over. Don't remember the last tie in the NFL.

Mosi,

Last NFL tie was 2002 - Atl vs. Pitt.

Good point about the total in the JAX game.

Can't pick just one, so I'll give you the two worst
3 team Money Line parlay last week,
CAROLINA
INDY
GREEN BAY!
4TH & 26 you've got to be kidding me!
but the worst was
TAMPA & a TB & over parlay vs the Colts
almost broke the tv that night!
Here's to no more bad beats this year
Good Luck to all

There were a few:
1) TB-Indy MNF
2) SD-KC
3) Den-NE MNF
4) Sea-Bal
5) Phi-Dal(1st)

Even though I won some of these, I felt bad for those on the other end.

I lost on every bad beat mentioned in here so far except I had Arizona in the Minn-Zona game. Had TB against Indy...Jax -2 against NO...NYG in a tease against Dall...etc. Although my worst game was definately the regular season game between Indy and Denver. I had Den +8, Den moneyline, over 49, and par with overs and Den+, and Par with Den moneyline and overs. The score at half was 28-17 Denver. All I needed was 4 pts in the second half. Well only a field goal was scored in the second half between both high powered offenses. Denver's last drive came down to the one yard line and they downed the ball. At half-time it seemed like this game was an easy $1,000...nothing worse than to think your game is golden and then it so suddenly turn into crap!

wcbias,

the missed extra point made the game end with new orleans covering instead of going to overtime.

That NO/Jax play wasn't a kickoff return. It was a little out pattern and #25 ,whoever he is, tried to grab the ball instead of tackling the guy.

Winkyduck,
I feel your pain from the Giant game but don't blame the kicker. Dallas should have never gotten the ball back. With the scored tied the Giants had the ball on the Cowboys 12 yd line with a 2nd and 5 and 17 seconds left in the game. Fassel,in his infinite wisdom, with a time-out remaining in his pocket, elects to kick the go ahead gimme field goal here, instead of running the clock down and kicking it as time expires. Ouch!
