Carlton ($1.72) vs. Essendon ($2.10)
Carlton was $1.65 versus Kangaroos last week after the big win in the wizard cup and this week has drifted slightly against the bombers. Both team lost last week Carlton by 20 points and Essendon by 46. Essendon’s loss came to a potential top 6 team and I feel the odds are a representation of where the teams are after round 1 and the wizard cup. The two teams played twice last year splitting the honors with Essendon taking out the night game last year.

West Coast ($1.60) vs. Geelong ($2.30)
Geelong has lost last 5 games at Subiaco with the closest being a 2 point lost in round 14 last year versus the Eagles. West Coast’s come from behind victory last week against Adelaide was very encouraging. One loss for the eagles at Subiaco last year again the other tenants of the ground Fremantle. Geelong was good last week against Richmond but we have to remember Richmond is on a 16 game losing streak despite their player acquisitions over the pre-season. It will be a great win if Geelong get up in this one, but I’m taking West Coast at home
2 units West Coast @ $1.60 ($200->$120)

Collingwood ($1.85) vs. Adelaide ($1.95)
Two evenly matched teams on form but I think home ground advantage will play a part this week. While Adelaide were good for a half of footy in front of their home fans, two away wins against the bottom two team last year is playing against them for me this week. Burton who played well last week will be out for the crows, but I can’t see Riccuito playing two bad games in a row and should cover his void from last weeks side. Adelaide is 1-7 against Collingwood in their last 8 contests with last years match Adelaide losing by 3 points. As I’m writing this just heard Buckley is out in-definitely with a hamstring injury which is a blow to the confidence of the side. Might wait to see which way the odds go but was looking at a play for the woods

Hawthorn ($2.15) vs. Richmond ($1.70)
Two teams coming off bad loses, difference being that Hawthorn lost at the always hard SCG and Richmond lost at home. Richmond’s odds came in from $2.90 to $2.75 last week with the news of some key exclusion to their opposition Geelong team. Richmond are currently on a 16 game losing streak but showed some form during the wizard cup and will be keen to display this in a major round. Wallace will have is team all fired up for this match and will look to blow Hawthorn out in the first quarter killing their opponents confidence. Although both teams finished at the bottom of the ladder last year, their new coaches are taking different paths to return to success. Richmond included AFL experienced players into their squad while Hawthorn looked at youth for their future. Hawthorn were terrible last year while Richmond simply were an under performing team with a bad game plan. Wallace showed signs of changing this around in the wizard cup.
1 unit Richmond @ $1.70 ($100->$70)

Aren't you at 0.00 units now? -3 last week, +3 this week?

Do a lot of people in Australia wager on the AFL?
