Auburn will go 9-3.

They are riding the luck Wagon and have been for a while. That being said, it takes a little luck to go the distance. I just don't see Auburn being able to catch all the breaks they have had the last year +.

The Auburn O is not what they were last year.

A lot of chatter about Auburn not being a Top 5 team and them being "lucky"..etc..etc. Here's the deal: Auburn walked into a very hostile environment in their 1st ROAD GAME of the year and beat the "brilliant coach", a "top 20 team", and the Referees.

Did KSU leave points on the field? Absolutely. But, if you watched the game, it was clear who the better team was (at every position). Keep in mind, AU is without Carl Lawson and Jermaine Whitehead on Defense (2 starters and 2 ALL SEC'ers). This defense is improving and when all the starters are in place, the depth will only make this stop unit stronger.

With Duke Williams emerging as a star and another week for Sammie Coates' knee to heal (along with Ricardo Louis, Quan Bray, CJ Uzomah, and Melvin Ray) this receiving corps. will add another dimension to Gus' offense that will be impossible to defend (provided Marshall throws in his lanes and keeps his passes from being deflected at the line of scrimmage).

AU will score 52+ against LA. Tech and then take revenge against LSU; putting them at 5-0. After that, it's the most daunting schedule in the nation that they will need to navigate; but make no mistake about it....this team is damn good and can compete with the best teams in the Nation on any given day.....PARTICULARLY AS AN UNDERDOG.

Let's see how Kansas State fares this year before rushing to judgment on Auburn. This win in Manhattan could look a whole lot better at the end of this season and will certainly serve AU well when they hit the road again (in Oxford, Starkville, and Athens).

Clearly someone has an Auburn bias. Bottom-line is, Auburn was outplayed last night by a very well coached team on the road….and there is nothing wrong with that. I don't think any less of Auburn after last night, it just reenforces what I already knew, which is: it's really tough to beat well-coached, motivated team on the road. And Auburn got the win which is all that matters and they are one step closed to being in the playoffs.

Secondly, no doubt Auburn has better athletes across the board but there are 50 teams that can say that when compared to KState. When has KState won with talent. They win with coaching, discipline, and scheme. Auburn won a game that they should have lost which isn't a knock on Auburn, it's just what happened. And good for them, it served them very well last year and IMO they are a better team this year (which apparently many people don't think).

I'm not disagreeing with most that is said in here, Auburn got a rather lucky win last night and offensively didn't do much.
But at the same time when people pick on Marshall and his passing skills and point out, that KState could have easily won (missed FGs etc), they should also remember that Auburns WR dropped several easy catches incl. one perfectly thrown deep ball by Marshall, that would have went for a TD. Several others were dropped and instead of giving Auburn a 1st down, put Marshall and Auburn into 3rd and long and obvious passing situations, so to me the problem was more their receiving corps than Marshall last night.
Marshall had two really bad passes that were tipped at the line of scrimmage incl. the one that got intercepted and overthrew two WR deep, that could have scored if he had hit them. But those deep balls were barely overthrown and still better to overthrow, than to underthrow them in that situation. Besides those two deep balls, he hit his targets for most part in rather difficult wind conditions.
But if I was a Auburn fan, those drops would concern me because it's more a lack of concentration than anything else and shouldn't happen in week3 in a close game to boot. And their defense would make me doubt their postseason chances: Yes, it's a bend but don't break type of D, but last night it was more KState beating themselves than Auburn not breaking (besides the 3 missed FGs, the INT in the endzone should have been a TD. It wasn't a good defensive play but a WR mistake that caused that pick). And they didn't create any pressure with their pass rush, which caused KST WRs to get open regularly without many problems. Also lots of extremely soft coverage, basically giving up 5-8 yards on purpose, gifting 3rd and short to KST.
