Do we go on with our day-to-day lives knowing a large amount of elderly people will die from Corona or do we quarantine the entire country putting millions of people out of work, crashing the economy with the possibility we create civil unrest?

I would argue option 2 will have a much larger impact on our country for years to come.

Now, Mob, Sal, Cock Stock, Mac and the others will come in and call me dumb and uneducated and a Fox watcher or whatever. Just come in and have a real conversation with some facts.

I would agree. Some caution and go on about everything. Russia closed their borders like nothing and so did Israel. How many deaths and cases over there? But the leftist with their.....everything is xenophobic and racist mentality has infected so much of what we do that truly isn't America first.

No other country is experiencing civil unrest and are managing well.

If civil unrest does start, it will be started by liberal minded people. If you have a gun just make sure it’s handy but secured safely and away from children.

Oh I know. I'm talking about down the road two months after the 65% of our country that lives paycheck-to-paycheck hasn't earned any money.

The normal folks are smart......they will eventually say if this virus doesn't kill us all, it's time to say screw it and go back to work.

Low - high middle class.....the normal folks.

I'll just go ahead and say it. The loss of life right now is something we have to accept in order to keep people in work and our economy operating.

I know this sounds really harsh but it is the reality.

The sky is not falling

Tell that to the people losing thousands a day in the stock market, their retirement and the people not working. Just because it isn’t falling for you, it’s not necessarily the case for others.

Sit back and listen to medical experts and doctors instead of the Fox channel....there, I said it...

The disbanding of the pandemic unit was really dumb....If Trump would have listened to medical staff and expert doctors things would be better...to characterize the virus as a common cold and telling the American people we have this under control was just plain stupid....

Don’t get it twisted. The majority here don’t like you and don’t agree with you. But yes there are a solid amount of right wing conspiracy theorist whackos here for sure, no question. You do have that working in your favor lmao. BUT....the people know what’s right. What about Patsfan? He disagrees with you and you respect him, right? Lmaoooo. Oh the choices we make.

I think it's important to provide facts not narratives Viejo. From politifact:

Did Donald Trump fire pandemic officials, defund CDC?

“Fired” may be a little strong, but in 2018, top national security officials handling pandemics left abruptly and were not replaced by the Trump Administration.

As for funding, there’s no question that the Trump administration sought to cut key CDC budget categories. But thanks to Congress, that funding was restored and even increased in bills that Trump ultimately signed.bruptly and were not replaced by the Trump administration.

The stock market will rebound quickly. Apparently the govt is trying to find a way financially to help the ones losing jobs. Relax

Now, my question for you Viejo is this. The UK, Spain, Germany and Italy etc. are all experiencing this same pandemic situation too. Why aren't you blaming their leadership for the spread of the disease?

I don't necessarily think Trump's team has done the best here but to blame them for this just isn't being genuine and smells of partisan politics but you do you.

Would you like to add substance to what I've said here or just attack me from your sun room? Let's have a real conversation.

From politifact:

[h=2]Are you more likely to die from the flu than coronavirus? It’s complicated:[/h]
  • Based solely on the numbers, you’re more likely to die if you get the 2019 coronavirus than if you get the flu.
  • But, as of now, the flu is more common in the United States than the coronavirus. Both diseases spread similarly and affect similar at-risk groups.
  • Researchers are still learning more about the severity of the coronavirus. That uncertainty makes it hard to make risk comparisons to other viruses.

From politifact:

Sun exposure does not kill the coronavirus:

  • There is no evidence that sun exposure kills the 2019 coronavirus. UNICEF has debunked a post that claims the organization said sunlight is effective against the virus.
  • There is evidence that viruses don’t like heat. President Trump has said coronavirus infections could slow with warmer weather, but some experts doubt that prediction.
  • A few of the best ways to prevent the coronavirus are to wash your hands with soap and water, avoid touching your face and disinfect surfaces in your home daily.
