Redskins quarterback Kirk Cousins was named the NFC's Offensive Player of the Month, the first such award for him. Cousins was the only quarterback to post a 100 passer rating in all five games in December and January. For the month, Cousins led the NFL with a 127.3 passer rating
OLB Whitney Mercilus was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for December. It's his first such award and the Texans second in a row. JJ Watt was November's AFC Defensive Player of the Month. Mercilus was fantastic last month with 17 tackles, 5.5 sacks, three tackles for loss, seven quarterback hits, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.
Two days before the playoffs begin, it's beautiful in Cincinnati. Don't get used to this sight, though. There's currently a 70 percent chance of rain Saturday. Bengals are going through the last open walkthrough before the game.
The accolades keep coming in for Seahawks rookie Tyler Lockett. He has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Month for his work as a returner. It's the second time this season that Lockett has won the award.
