Um, probably because he threw him a 3-1 breaking ball. No hitter on earth should swing at a 3-1 breaking ball...you sit on the fastball, and if you don't get it, you've forced the pitcher to throw a 3-1 breaking ball for a strike, something most pitchers can't do consistently in a pressure situation.

That's why he took. Not because he didn't want to hit.

Until this guy hits a game-winning grand slam in the bottom of the 9th with the bases loaded and 2 outs in Game 7 of the World Series, no one's gonna cut him some slack. Stupid.
