The Sun Devils came close to closing out Stanford last week but they watched the Cardinal kicker, Joshua Karty, split the uprights for five field goals and that’s all the scoring that was needed to send ASU to their fifth defeat of the season.
The Colorado offense has been stuck in neutral all season and is averaging a paltry 13.7 points per game. They rank near the bottom in all of the major offensive and defensive statistical categories except one – stopping the pass.
The Buffaloes allow 219.6 passing yards per game which rank them 55th in that category and that’s good enough or me to grab the points in this one. Arizona State is not a good team and although their stats both offensively and defensively are better than Colorado’s they are still nothing to write home about.
How can you lay 13 ½ points with a team that is on the road and allows an average of 353.6 combined yards per game? Will ASU win? Probably, but Colorado will keep it within the generous margins we are getting from the books.
