Oh yeah Argentina will come out firing. Should be a great game even though both teams are moving onto the next round.

I dont know if Argentina will go nuts out since they are already in the second round. They look like the team to beat along with Spain so far...I might stay away from this game. Netherlands might want to prove to the world they are truly legit and end up winning this game.

I have a small ticket on them at +500 to win the cup, It looks like they will play either Mex or Portugal, not sure what the better draw would be?

From what I have witnessed thus far in this WORLD CUP..........this very well could be the best OFFENSE vs the best DEFENSE.

GREAT GAME

Yeah...I wish this was the FIRST game of the cup not when they're both 2-0

I'm guessing all subs so there will be no Requilme, Crespo, Robben, ect. ect. ect. I'm thinking of a scoreless draw or a 1-1 tie. This could've been the match of the group round but instead it'll go down as just another unimportant game in the World Cup. Poo....

From what I've heard the Aregentina subs are just as good. They have one 18 year old (can't think of his name) who is suppose to be the future of Arg coming off the bench.

We'll have to hear what the coaches say and see if they do sit players.

Look at Ecuador. They were upfront about sitting players while Germany had their full squad. It clearly showed.

Outside the America Continent, Argentina never beat traditional strong European teams. They never reached semi final except the two tournaments in America Continent. Don't expect them to beat Spain, Italy, Germany or Netherlands in Europe.

For tonight match, I think Netherlands will try to avoid the Germany in the quarterfinal. I will not surprise if Argentina win.

Argentina performance in World Cup outside America Continent :

World Cup 2002 - They failed to reach the second round.
World Cup 1998 - They were beaten by Netherlands in quarter-final.
World Cup 1994 - They failed to reach the second round.

I made an error here, Argentina was beaten by Germany in 1990 final.

Both teams have a lot to play for, if I was Argentina or Netherlands I would be playing hard to face Mexico instead of Portgual. Portgual just won despite resting a majority of there best players. Mexico is without there best striker and it is undetermined when he will come back. Mexico is on a downward spiral after tying with Angola and then getting beat by Portgual. Long story short both Argentina and Netherlands would stomp over Mexico, Portgual is no pushover they are 3-0 and have played extremely well thusfar.

I'm don't understand the rationale comparing this year's Argentine vs years past against the Euros.

There's always a first time for everything. What's to say this year Argentine won't go all the way? From what I saw of the ARG team, they were awsome, signs of good thing to come this year I think.

And you need an example of "1st time" ? How about fresh off the press.....

the 2006 MIAMI HEAT.

First NBA finals, and first NBA Championships in club's history.

This Argentina team looks good... along with Spain.

Don't expect too much from Argentina and Spain. Argentina will meet Germany and Spain will meet Brazil in the quarter-final.

I expect a Germany-Brazil or Netherlands-Brazil final this year.
