You could make the case that population growth doesn't benefit 90% of Americans, it might goose GDP which is essential in a Keynesian system but it really isn't benefiting most people.

Especially when the growth is disproportionately in the form of people that are largely economically worthless.

Immigration should be more merit based at the very least. If you're the most prosperous country in the world, why would you just invite anyone in as a social policy?

I don't want government quotas, let the market decide what we need. Obviously there's a market here for Mexican workers, if there wasn't then they wouldn't be coming here? Also to the original question, if you got cancer, do you want the brightest of brightest fixing you, or are you okay with second, third or fourth best?

I'm not saying we shouldn't have any cheap labor coming over, but legal channels based on supply/demand is how it should be done. Not just a free for all with a 3rd world country.

That's what Trump supporters do, they disagree with insults cause they have no rational argument. I made a solid rational argument, that I should be able to spend my money how ever I want and you come back with an insult. You don't know me or what I do. Just a blatant refusal to follow our federal immigration laws that are in place.

So if someone moves here with a 1 year old, and the 1 year old goes to school and lives in the US his whole life, and gets good grades, and earns a scholarship, he shouldn't get it because his parents brought him here when he was 1 yrs old? Doesn't make sense to me to punish the kid.

The argument (not sure if you said it or someone else, just in general) that you are taking this away from other kids is a bit out there. There are tons of scholarship opportunities out there and most kids who really want to go to school and work hard can find plenty of scholarships.

The rational argument is you are bringing in 3rd worlders with no skills and they're overpopulating working class areas as well as the school systems, hospitals, etc. Some of them are needed for agriculture, hospitality, construction and other industries, but a lot of them aren't.

If you grew up in a middle income neighborhood and 25 years later half the people in the neighborhood didn't speak english, then you would probably feel a certain type of way about that and wonder what is going on? Even if most of the people who feel this way probably aren't smart enough to articulate their point properly.

I'm not bringing anyone in, they are here because of demand. Who's life is worse off? Most of these guys on this forum like to brag about how much money they have. How about we bring them out of the shadows, give them a number so they can help pay for the schools and hospitals, so they can get things like car insurance, health insurance. many of us do NOT think that your argument is rational, and to be quite truthful, it is grossly irrational. those who come here ILLEGALLY immediately display their disrespect for our laws and then continue to disrespect us by not even making an effort to learn our language. they do learn how to bilk the system and, i for one, do NOT want my tax dollars to pay for any of their benefits. having served and fought for our country, i find it grossly insulting when i see them carrying the mexican flag and never see them carrying an american flag. i want my tax dollars to be spent on veterans who have fought for our country and never one cent spent on those who have come here ILLEGALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
