by the time someone replies, the deed will most likely be done. staying up late because the waivers disappear at midnight and it's all free agents....anyway.....

anyway, i am 2-0 and the points leader in a 16 yeam IDP league. yes, yes, pat me on my motherfucking back yeah! i am going up against the 3 time defending champ, who is also 2-0 and second to me in total points....

i have the number 3 waiver, and am going to use it to pick up seneca wallace. now, my 2 starting QBs are P. Manning and M. Ryan, but i don't have a backup QB. first of all, ryan has a bye in week 4, which is just 2 sundays from now. given hasselbeck's history, i think there's a decent shot wallace could start in week 4. even if hasselbeck is able to start in week 4, i think wallace could still see some playing time seeing as to how the colts ran the wildcat with great success against the colts. instead of having an empty slot, wallace might still be able to gain me a few points there. to top it off, the guy who has hasselbeck as his starter is also 2-0 and #4 in points (different division though), and 5th on the waiver list, so i think i have a shot at crippling his chances this weekend if he can't get a replacement. QBs are at a premium in my league. if hasselbeck has another injury prone season and wallace sees a lot of paying time, i might be able to get a favorable trade down the line from someone desperate for a QB, as i would like to add a quality RB (i have K.smith, benson, and M. bell)

also looking at nabbing either manningham or smith (NY) off the waiver wire. i have E. Royal and M. Jenkins on my bench, have decided i'll drop royal. i like the threat of ryan to jenkins much more than orton to royal, although neither WR has done much for me yet. my other WRs are V. Jackson and P. Crayton, and if M. Bell slows down production wise i could use Manningham/Smith in that flex spot.

also looking at shoring up some defensive concerns, primarily at DB. i have quentin jammer and champ bailey, but production wise they're just not getting it done. looking at replacing them with a couple safeties who produce more tackles. bryan scott and marquand manuel look like the best available right now, although i am tempted to pick up dumerville, but i just don't know if he can produce enough sacks to offset his lack of tackles.....

The second part, the DB's you have. The two you have are bad ones to own. It works the opposite of offense. Jammer and Bailey will never get any numbers because the opposition throws away from them, so no tackles or picks. Who you need instead are the other DB's on SD and Denver - they are getting all the action. You can also go for safeties on bad teams. They will be on the field a ton. Look at TB, Buffalo, Cleveland, Detroit. All have horrible defenses, which gives them the ability to rack up tackles.
