I met DR J in the elevater after a pacer game in market square arena. I was 13 at the time. He was wearing a full length fur coat. His reply to us was no autographs, just handshakes. He was on his way up to aisle 25, the bar on the top floor of old market square arena. I thought it was the coolest thing ever at the time.

i know Bobby Taylor (Eagles) and David Wesley (Hornets) My father and Davids father are friends so we have known each other a long time. Bobby is my age, we played basketball against each other from age about 6-18. They were our rivals in HS the year they won state. Taylor was Named Texas BBall player of the year. Wesleys brother was also on that team, so have played against David in pickup games when i was younger.

When I was 12 (back in the 60's) a friend and I were waitng for a bus on State and Randolph in Chicago when we heard "Hey champ, hey champ" We looked up and there was Cassius Clay and a bodyguard walking at a fast pace. We followed them. They walked several blocks to the south and then cut over a block to the west and then headed back north. We continued to shadow them staying about a quarter block behind. We didnt think he knew we were even there when suddenly they sprinted across a busy street just as the light changed. When they reached the other side they turned around and Clay(Ali)started pointing and yelling "You cant catch me! I'm faster than you. I'm smarter than you! I am the greatest!" Still cant believe it happened.

About 10 years late I was working as courier in chicago and was going into the Time-Life building in Chicago and notice a limo on the west side of the building only half parked. When I exited the building a few minutes laters a small crowd was gathered around the limo. Ali was inside waiting for the driver to return. They had run out of gas.

2 years later the courier firm had an office Christmas party (I was now in management) at a Japanese steak house. I went up to the bar to get a cocktail and stood behind this gorgeous blonde from the office. She was standing in front of me and guess who was sitting in front of her making goo goo eyes and telling her how beautiful she was? Bingo. Ali again!
Strangely the steak house was on OhioSt only about 2 blocks from where his limo had run out of gas 2 years before!
