I have a Bushmaster M4 carbine, and currently use a bore snake to clean the barrel. I've found it works better than the rod and patch, anyone have an opinion? Also, whats the best way to clean the locking lugs? Brush, q-tips, and pipecleaners just don't get them as clean as I'd like. Any ideas?

ok, it sounds dumb, I have a Lee Endfeild 303, and a H&K G3SG/1. I don't know the anatomy of a M4 Carbine, but if its a small area, without length, I use a toothbrush and gun oil.

Bore snake may work, but use a lot of oil, could fatigue the rifle action on the barrel.

What do you think of the Tavor Assault weapon, I am not a fan, looks like a fucking rifle for a man with no penis

both are fine weapons, the 303 is a classic. I assume your H&K is non-title III?

yeah, it's a really small area with really small ledges where the bolt-face meets the throat. The brush works well at loosening the fouling, the problem is how to remove it. This area gets really dirty since the AR design forces all the gas into the mechanism to cycle the bolt. Contrary to common knowledge, this platform isn't near as unreliable as the stories go.

As for the Tavor, I'm not a fan of any bull-pup weapon design. Besides, I shoot lefty, so the only bull-pup weapon I could use would be that german Steyr AUG. Tactical reloads must be a bitch. I'd take a Galil anyday.

Talking of subject = Bad,

If you strip a Kiwi Cloth, and use the plastic pick on the back of the brush, it should work.

its the G3/SG1 with starlight sight. Beautiful weapon, bulky as fuck, Id rather use it for its original sniper purpose, not a good tack weapon.

I had a mossberg 12 gauge but I plan n replacing it with a 410 gauge single shot because I heard you can also fire I believe 44 Magnums out of it also...Anybody ever heard of this? If true what brand/Model should I buy?

whyguy: any idea on cleaning the locking lugs/bore area? I mean to rmeove the fouling once it's loose as opposed to just spreading it around.

I would NOT attempt to fire a .44mag out of a .410. While it might be possible and might work fine many times, it might end in catastrophic failure the next. Follow the advice of the experts, and don't mix calibers/type of ammo with a weapon not designed for that cartridge.

You CAN fire 12 gauge slugs out of a 37-milli flare launcher, it would be a violaiton of the NFA to do so (you would be creating a destructive device, a 10yr and 250,000 penalty).

keep the mossberg12 ga... if your looking for home protection.. a 4.10 isn't designed to fire a 44magnum so wouldn't suggest doing it..

if your looking to stop someone.. 12 gauge will do more damage to someone coming in your house then a 44.. granted a 44 will put a gaping hole in your target but if your intimidated by the "intruder" nervous put the barrel of a 12gauge in their direction and your less likely to miss

plus you can get non-lethal rounds for a shotgun... beanbags, make your own rock-salt rounds etc.

Good god man. That is some SERIOUS fire power. Isnt an M4 expensive? This is the same gun used by infantry Marines in IRAQ I believe. (Except theirs is full auto, of course.)

yeah, my M4 is the civie AR-15 version that is standard issue to the USMC is 'raq and 'sthan. It's mainly a supped-up .22, as it shoots .223 or 5.56 X 45. The stopping power comes from the way the round tumbles and yaws when it enters human flesh, creating massive wounds. Some of my friends in 'shtan would be dead if the talitwats used the AK-74 instead of the AK-47. The 47 round just punches through and through, while the 74 round was named "the poison bullet" by the afghans fighting the russians.

I used to have a Glock 17 and Glock 19 and sold both. I have not touched a gun in 10 years and never plan to again...
