Surf

I bowl with a friend in Maryland once a year and bowled a 196 once, I average around 160-170. But I grind my right knee, old baseball injury, so I save the wear and tear for surfing or I would bowl more often, its a lot of fun.

Ping-Pong now thats my best sport, is that a sport?

I used to love to bowl, but I rolled a perfect 300 game once and never touched another bowling ball and don't intend to. No fvcking way I could roll 300 again, and as is I can claim to have achieved a state of perfection in at least one field.

I haven't touched a bowling ball in years. Used to be a 200 average bowler too! I got into gambling by bowling a bit. Used to bowl in the Amateur Bowlers Tour around 10 years ago. I kept re-entering at $40 a pop to try to make the cut for the following day. Kida like chasing your bets

I Bowl Ten Pin: last league avg i finished with a 185 first time i even touched a Ten Pin bowling ball was about 6 months earlier before I joined the league. I was in college at the time and it got too expensive for a 19 year old at the time. I'll go bowl every once in awhile (once a year maybe) and I usually still can bowl an avg of around 185. I guess its like riding a bike. Last time on Fathers Day, I bowled like a 229 with no open frames hadn't bowled in over a year lol.

Duck Pin bowling was my thing growing up though (little bowling balls) Most of you probably never heard of it if you don't live on the east coast. My last league average was a 129 which is above average (not awesome but above avg).

I play tennis too, pretty good except for serving, can't seem to be consistant doing that.

I play basketball the most, usually at least 2 times a week. Back in college, I used to play 3-5 times a week or more.

I also have played in slow pitch softball leagues and flag football leagues. Fun stuff!

Duckpins take more skill,lol... But its a dying sport, not alot of duckpin alleys left....I guess its all what you were raised on...

I have Bowled Tenpins but way after I had bowled ducks for years and it just wasn`t the same...Way more pin action with duckpins...

Bowling is a fun sport to gamble on too...

One game me and my buddies used to play 8 or better, we didn`t bet alot maybe 5 bucks a rd. U get one ball and you have to get 8 or better with it (which isn`t that easy in ducks) if you got the 8 you were in for the next rd til one guy was left...3-4 guys fun stuff

Journey we used to play a similar game when I was not playing in the leagues with duckpins...
We did it with 2 balls, First ball you had to get at least 5 pins and the next ball you had to get at least get 8. The third ball if you didn't get at least 8 on your 2nd ball, you could get a 10 and get half of your money back.
Played 20 bucks at a time. Sometimes it would last a couple of games.

jateeluv, you sound like a natural 10 PIN BOWLER, with numbers like that...

Yeah I was pretty good at duckpins, but I never got into the 'Big Balls' as we called them ...I may have to get back into duckpins I forget how fun it use to be..

We have had this duckpin bowling alley like 2 minutes from where I have lived all my life..and the community won't let any new owners of the place change it into another venue. The alley is like sacred or something, its crazy.

Yeah Ten Pin was pretty natural, i stopped playing regularly becuz it was expensive and two i got much better than my friends. We used to bet on alot of stuff then I eventually got better than them so we couldn't bet anymore then we stopped going. I got my own ball for 140 bucks and everything and joined a league. The alley balls..you can't use them and get high scores, you gotta have you own balls for ten pin because of everyone hands/fingers/thumb are different. Plus the lane balls are plastic and don't grip the lanes at all.

Now Duckpins are alot of fun to bet on because there is a huge flux in the scoring. One game you can get 'lucky' and get a 160 and then bowl 88 the next game. Duckpin there is more luck, more variance, more action and ALOT I MEAN ALOT more SPLITS

I agree Jatee, I think the duckpin game is sacred in some parts ...I don`t agree about it being lucky , i compare a duckpin bowler to a pitcher, if your slightly out of the strike zone , your game is way off in score....If your in the groove hitting that pocket like a pitcher when he `s hitting the corner your score indicates...Just like picking up single pin spares...Very similar actually....

I was a 'Nolan Ryan' style bowler bringing the heat, lol, you can get alot of back door strikes with the power game, in that regard there is some luck, but thats because of the speed you can generate combined with accuracy..

i love bowling but i stink real bad. we would play in a league that gave out points to the worst teams and we won the first place trophy 2 years in a row because we bowled better than our crappy average and had alot of handicapped points. all the good bowlers were pissed. they took themselves too serious because bowling was/is their life.

I bowled for a living at one time. I won a PBA regional event. A Jim Lustig scratch event in New York(most competetive amateur tourneys). I have about 20 300 games and about 10 800 series. My high series is 827.

I bowled the high roller, the hoinke and just about every other mega buck tourney.
