Happened to me yesterday...I'm just sitting at the computer like always and all of a sudden I hear flapping wings and something bumping into the walls. It then comes towards me and misses my head by about 2 inches and keeps going into the front hall. It took about half an hour to get the thing to fly out of the window again. Ugly little creature that was and quite a scary experience. Anyone have something similar happen to them!?

Holy Crap!!!!

To me, bats are the scariest thing out there, I am glad I have never encountered one.

Own a Pest Control Company here in New Jersey.

Happens all the time.
Always recommend opening a window or door and they usually fly out.

If you have a net that is practical but do recommend wearing gloves so they do not scratch or bite you for the possible rabies infection.

Also they do their birthing in the Spring and the young are not able to fly usually till Mid to late August so make sure if you have them in your attic they are not trapped inside until they can leave on their own in September.

Bat Control is a very profitable division of our company.

Good Luck!

Next time use a .20 gauge with #8 shot... that'll make smaller holes in the walls when you miss.

I had that happen not too long ago. I got under a table, lied down and watched the rest of the game....let someone else bag it with the pool net. He was at it for about 45 minutes.....but he had fun. then our maid decided to get some garlic and string it over the doorway, well the bat slept right above the garlic outside our patio....so she went and bought mucho garlic.....we ended up spraying some Baygon for shits and giggles...she didn't know and swears it's the garlic that did the trick....too funny!

I have been woken up at 3:00am by my wife saying there is something in the room. I hear nothing then about 5 minutes later it's the same thing. Finally I hear the flapping of wings and the chase begins. That bat flew thru every room in our house and was netted twice before being tossed out the front door with the net as well. Got up in the morning to see net laying in front yard minus the bat...

I was alarmed at the headline. I thought you were talking BASEBALL bat. I thought maybe a disgruntled bookie was after you! LOL.

Yes, I had one hanging on my wall one time.

Caught it with a mason jar.

I am in the passenger seat of a car driven by a friend through a town in central Mass. It was dark out and I had the window down. I hear a "thunk" sound but think nothing of it despite the fact that it was pretty loud. A few minutes later I feel something like a pine cone or something on my back but didnt think anything of it for like 5 seconds then when it was moving more I freakin screamed and my friend pulled over! I jumped out of the car and the dazed stupid fvcking motherfvcking nasty sob let lose and fell to the ground. I dont know how it all happened. My guess is that it hit the outside mirror got dazed and somehow landed in the car. YUCK! The thing was flapping around after I got out. I told my buddy to run the little shit over and he did. I just got the chills just thinking about it.

I read one time that bats are the 4th most numerous of one type of classification (phylum/genus/class...can't remember which)of creatures on the planet. #1 insects, #2 fish, #3 birds, #4 bats. So there are a SHITLOAD of bats EVERYWHERE, but we rarely see them as they are nocturnal and quiet.

The good news is that bats eat 1/4 to 1/3 of their body weight in mosquitos every damn night. So, like spiders & snakes, although they are creepy and carry the stigma of being potentially poisonous to man, having bats in your neighborhood is better than the alternative.

Yours in batfulness,
