Anyone ever been a witness?

So there I was, walking to the bus stop. I get there, and this black guy starts talkin to my white ass about Chris Rock. I nod my head, pretending like I know what he's talking about. While he's talking, this other somalian and fat native bitch are arguing/fighting each other. The black dude suddenly goes after the Somalian and beats his ass down and shoves his face in the snow. I just stand there watchin em for 10 minutes til the cops show up and get my phone number and address, thanks to the fat black women at the front of bus pointing to me, the "white guy". Anyway, just wondering if anybody else has had to be a witness and how much you get paid etc.

If you get a subpoena to testify, you can expect a small per diem ($20 or so) + reasonable milage (.60 a mile or so). If its a jury trial, they will probably throw in lunch as well.

Ok, so I was member of a semi-pro level soccer team, we are pretty much done for the season, no chance to go up or down, and we get this away match vs a team aspiring to get promoted.

We hang on to 0-0 for a while, and finally they get a goal, 0-1. We go on the offensive then, and manage to tie 1-1 in the second half, now we are under fucking siege, the public is mad at the referee, shouting like hell...
We hold on to 1-1, defending to the last man, I myself in the area, when i am a striker lol. Ok, now, we get this AMAZING counterattack and one of our central defenders, somehow pulls off an amazing play, and finishes it to the net in a lightning fast transition.

The public goes PEANUTS, but they still stay at the stands, the other team is in DENIAL, we are like, wtf ? we scored !!
Minutes later, one of our team touches the ball with his hand inside our area, but the ref doesnt see it ( it was clear ), the public then starts insulting the ref badly, and one woman says : ''You bitch, you are runing my son's team'' '' im gonna kill you'' ( REF WAS A WOMAN).

from the stands they come, in hundreds jumping over the fence, the ref starts to run towards the changeroom, as do the asistants ref. We are left without moving, on the pitch, but then one of our players said: Eh ! They are gonna kill them !

We all ran towards the changeroom and some of the OTHER TEAM, joined us, and we kept the public from getting the refs while they were trying to unlock the door in PANIC !! While in the mess we were scared someone might stab us. I was pushed by 2 guys, and ran into this REALLY BIG guy, i looked up at him scared that he would think i attacked him or something, he understood and came forwards, and stood by the rest of us.

When they managed to lock themselves up there and call the police we left the masses to hammer the doors.

Turns out the refs were injured during the runback to the changeroom, and we were called as witnesses for trial. They got some money for the injuries, but the woman who started it all, alleged she had been hurt too !! By one of the refs, with the flag they use to signal offside, in the stomach ( she was a fat fat ugly ugly lying bitch). On top of everything she wanted to press charges herself, go figure, we disproved her so badly it was laughable.

We were insulted in and out of court also. Lowlifes in Spain, could make a decent film. Those 3 refs treated us very well after that incident.

that was a joke, by the way. I was almost a witness once. This black dude was drunk on cognac or something strong one night when i lived my ex. he kept yelling "Fuck yall" or "Fuck Jamal" or something (he was really trashed) and started breaking shit. we called the oinkers just to get him to stfu. But when the pigs came, they saw him choking his girlfrined and had to draw their guns. She got in the car and came running to the jail to try to bail him ou, but you have to see a judge first in this state.

I got my tie on and everything and got ready for my day in court. But his girlfriend loved him too much to testify, and the charges were dropped. Oh well, not my problem. We wouldn't have called the law but he kept shouting for hours and wouldn't shut up. I thought they were just gonna nab him for D & D and put him in a drunk tank.
