I have decided after evaluating the situation I have put 50 on the Aussies to win it all..

Dude..30 some odd years of gambling here..figure I am down bout 800K lifetime..But I wake up each day expecting to go on the longest winning streek of my life..I have found that more often than not it leads to problems that can be avoided

We were talking about gambling between forum members, were we not?..Well I just wanted to get the point across that I have a tiny bit of experience in the gambling field. And experience tells me to avoid bets with people who you could not identify in a line up of two..

You may be right that they are overvalued on the pointspreads. However, part of that is because of the natural flow of a blowout. I truly believe that if USA started every game down 40-0 they would win against a lot of teams. The moneyline seems incredibly low, so you may be on to something. I have bitten and put a little on USA to win gold.

What I don't understand is why you are trying to incite confrontations. You come on to a forum where you know 75%+ of people are Americans, at a time when all countries accentuate their nationalistic pride, and talk about how America is inferior at everything. I am one of the least "patriotic" people you will meet, but it doesn't make sense. Basketball was invented in the USA, and not that long ago relatively. Offenses that are seen worldwide were created in America (the wheel, the triangle). The zone defense, even allocation of positions share an American origin. So it's fine if you want to say that the NBA has gotten away from the root of basketball (increased emphasis on the 3-pointer, a shot clock, extremely physical play) but you certainly realize that some of your claims are outlandish. Kobe Bryant, Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, Chris Paul etc.. are some of the greatest players in the world, and they are playing motivated basketball after an admittedly disappointing recent performance. To make blanket statements about the team as they cruise to 5 victories doesn't help your cause much.

My offer still stands. I will bet $10,000 against your $2,500 that USA wins gold in men's basketball. I will post up with any reputable poster you wish, given that you do the same.
