This Iowa team could be the team that really turns the corner in the 2nd half of the season. They could easily be 5-1 on the year and people are still down on them for loosing to a solid northwestern team. This will probably be a no play for me but there are more reasons I believe to take the Hawks.

-pink locker room/ home field
-great run defense

Junior Dustin Sherer will start at QB for UW in place of senior Allan Evridge--at least he's practicing with the first team this week. Another note: Kraig Urbik, Wisky's 330-pound guard who has started 40 some games in a row and will be drafted on the first day of the NFL draft, very likely won't play due to a knee injury. The Badgers are already playing without LT Gabe Carimi, who has been compared to Joe Thomas.
Doesn't look good for Bucky.

I am pounding the shit out of Iowa. Best play on the board in my opinion. Wisky is simply not a good football team and rely on the run. Not good against Iowa's league leading D. Iowa lost 3 games (2 on the road to top 25 teams) by 9 pts combined to MSU, Pitt and NW. Turnovers, 5 in NW and I think 3 against MSU were the problems, but overall they moved the ball in those games. I like Iowa 34-14 here.

But hey, I am a homer as well. Drink that Kool-Aid. :drink:

They are 2nd in the Big 10 on D not 1st. That goes to PSU -- which should have put a easy to follow game plan out there for the Iowa coaches this week seeing how PSU shut them down.

ToothedTeddy, why did you have to mush the Hawkeyes this weekend with this thread? Starting a thread like this isnt a good thing for Hawkeye backers.

But I will say, it IS a good thing that books aren't afraid of letting the badgers players get more then a field goal. And the fact that the general public is happy with getting that field goal, says good things about the Hawkeyes this weekend.

If this line drops to 3, you might want to 2nd guess the Hawkeyes. And if it drops below 3, might just want to get off the play all together.

IMHO.

agreed. if line starts dropping it will be a no play. if it stays put i'm on iowa. if it moves to 4 or higher it'll be a big play.

Good thread but I don't know.
Wis. loses this game and it really lets the wind out of the season.
Good info on Iowa's D

I like Iowa alot this week and agree that they have a good run stopping unit which should hold down the Wisc attack........I mean they held Ringer (MSU) in check and he is the better back than any at Wisc.......Everidge has proven the last two weeks that he cant get the job done........My only worry is that I have played with Wisc the last two weeks and now when I go against them they will probalby play their best game of the year..............nah not with their QB!!!!!!!!

IOWA or nothing in this game!!!!!!!!

I like Wisconsin to cover. Iowa has faced off against Michigan State, Indiana, and Northwestern in conference so far. Three of the weakest teams in the league at the line of scrimmage. That has made them look good. They won't be able to push Wisky around and the Iowa skill players aren't that great. Keep in mind how much Iowa struggled to move the ball at Wisky last year. Both teams return most of their teams from last year intact.
