So your driving to Vegas in a Benz... wow.. nice... I'd hate to see you arrive in a chevette with a license plate that says "my other car is a Benz" hehehe

Anyways... sifting through all the agendas or personal vendetta's on these websites you can see why the proposed meeting in Vegas although a good start will not work unless some sort of fund protection is initiated. Whether a book is a top 60 or not if it goes under players are screwed. Fish mentioned that Aces was a top book at once and they went under taking players with them, to think that can't happen again is ridiculous. Players need to have their money protected, will a book like Pinnacle or Olympic go for something like that? I seriously doubt it. Personally I think a year from now things will be just as they are right now, different books advertising on different sites and site wars and flaming still occupying the main forums.

HTRC,

Our attornies have warned us NOT to get involved in the insurance business when it comes to offshore sports books...

If you really feel the need to have a sports book you play at "insured," then perhaps you should take up that offer. Who could blame you?

Our goal is to have such a high standard of sports books in an "alliance" that gamblers would feel safer joining one of them than anywhere else, insurance or not...

I will NEVER have my sportsbook accounts "insured" unless it is by the FDIC.

If I lose my money account balance at Pinny, Bet365, BOWMANS, Oly, or other books of this quality............SO BE IT, I will live with it.

Why does Pinny, Bowmans, Oly, Bet365, Skybook, WSEX not have escrow "insurance" at a place such as Peeps????

I am all ears on this one!!

A better question is......Why is ROYAL the ONLY one???

Lakerfan- I totally understand where you're coming from, and if you feel that the extra insurance is legit (it obviously worked for you) who can knock that, thats all great...

I just can't see how anyone takes those kind of sites serious, look at the garbage allowed there...the sites forum format is based entirely on making fun of people for no reason at all...and its obviously encouraged, its one thing to make a joke here or there, good natured ribbing, but the outlandish lies and non-stop bashing of people ...why would any book trying to appear credible want to be associated with that crap?

Ken.. I can see that being a problem especially with the US crackdown on offshore wagering and anyone associated with it but at the same time although the thought of putting together the top 60 books sounds good in principal I still doubt it will work. Many of the players on this and other sites understand and know who the top sites are already.

If you guys wanted to accomplish something, get all books to drop bonuses (will never happen) and we would quickly see who the top books are as the smaller ones would surely die a quick death. Give a bettor the option of playing at a Top Book with no bonus or a Risky Book with no bonus and its should be a foregone conclusion as to where he goes. Bonuses have killed the industry.

Just my Opinion

Shit Fish I thought you actually knew something about the industry, that comment shows you are clueless AT BEST.

How many gamblers would have signed up at PanAm if they had no bonus offers (20%)?

Journey, it wasn't too long ago that PMAC, Railbird, and JJ were all welcomed to this site with open arms. This site was shit then IMO. I think a lot that goes on at the OGD is shit, but I could say the same for MW (with the constant frat humor), and even here under the PMAC reign.

RX takes a heavy editing approach, Peep runs an almost completely open forum. Peep is kind of like the ACLU IMO, you might not like everyone it protects, but you have to respect the idea.

Plus OGD has a lot of good posters. A lot of negativity over there at times, but also some very good posts.

Fish, now you are just being silly.

You will grind out a 1% edge on VP or slots, but not worry at all about being stiffed even though it costs nothing? Downside = 0, upside is 100% return of funds from stiff book. Now a pro gambler like you should immediatley see the value in that. I realize it is a personal issue with you, but be serious for a second.

Feel free to insure, insure, insure all you want.

It is the absolute truth that if you hold opinions not shared by Peep and his army that you will be flamed, slandered, ridiculed, and eventually banned by this army.

quote:
and its obviously encouraged, its one thing to make a joke here or there, good natured ribbing, but the outlandish lies and non-stop bashing of people

The whole site was built on bashing. If they weren't bashing Shrink or Major or their own posters there wouldn't be any traffic at all. At first I thought it was a good idea, more voices means more information for the player. But it has unfortunately turned into a scandal sheet and a tool for the anti-Rx malcontents to post their lies and hatred.

That's a fukking lie and I can prove it. Peep banned me because I caught him red-handed lying about Biff's posted college hoops record. The reaction to Biff's suggestion for a flame free football forum is an illustration of the mentality of that site's operators and posters.
