First round games • Teams coming off a conference tournament championship are 27-11 OVER in their last 38 first round contests. • Teams that didn’t make their conference tournament championship game are on a first round slide of just 78-95-4 ATS, good go-against teams. • Power conference schools that lost SU & ATS in their conference championship game are 50-14 SU & 36-25-3 ATS in the first round since 2002. • Beware of first round favorites of -1 to -3, as they are just 32-35 SU & 23-40-4 ATS since 2009. • Only three first round favorites of 14.5 points or more out of 122 have lost outright while going 60-584 ATS. • Top 4 seeds are just 17-25-1 ATS as double-digit first round favorites since 2013. Top 4 seeds as single digit favorites are 28-16 UNDER the total since 2006 and 26-17-1 ATS in those games. • #5 seeds are 17-17 SU & 10-22-2 ATS in recent first round games versus #12 seeds. • #6 seeds are 16-16 SU & 12-19-1 ATS of late in first round games versus #11 seeds. (Also 20-11-1 UNDER) • #8 seeds are 20-12 SU & 18-13-1 ATS in their past 32 encounters versus #9 seeds (Underdogs are 1614 SU & 19-10-1 ATS in those contests). • Power Conference schools are 12-10 SU & 6-15-1 ATS as #5 seeds in the first round since 2008. • Power Conference schools are 9-18 SU & 13-13-1 ATS as #9-16 seeds in the first round since 2014. Just a warning as I can't say history will repeat itself. Last year on Saturday of this week was a ma$$ burial for the Sharps, Public, and Service Play section of this site. What was the reason for this money-sucking event? REVENGE Games! Last Season on the final Saturday of the Conference Tournaments teams playing with Revenge for a Loss in the Regular Season went 0-9 SU and 1-8 ATS. They all talk a big game in the press about how much they want payback before they flush your money down the toilet. Like Florida on Friday in Double Revenge vs Vandy. And even though they whipped Seton Hall twice this year Villanova was talking about how bad they wanted Revenge for last year's Conference Tourney Loss vs the Pirates. And what did they do Friday after scoring 108 the day before? Only miss 16 of their first 19 shots. Beware of REVENGE, it's usually a trap.

Just something I noticed ..not sure how big it is ...but I will post it anyway ... 2002 to 2016 Adjusted Temp Rank No Champ has had higher than last year's 267 Rank of Villanova in Adjusted Tempo .... Now they can reach the Championship Game ....just not wit it all ... Before last year the previous highest rank Adj Tempo was 247 ....fyi Looking at this year's teams in which you would eliminate if you follow this trend of nothing higher ranked in Adj Tempo above 267 can win the Tourney ,,,, Eliminate from winning it all 277 Arizona 323 Villanova .... WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wisconsin 333 Baylor 337 Michigan 339 Virginia 351 Thoughts Appreciated !!!!

Round One Friday 12:15-1:40 games 14 OVER, 29 UNDER, 1 PUSH last 14 years

Friday Night Games 16-16 OVER last 4 years.

Trend from yesterday -- OVER went 9-1 in Games starting after 4pm. That would have been 10-0 if the Maryland coach didn't have the UNDER :)

2017……. 2 Seed Kentucky vs 3 Seed UCLA

2-seeds that get imbalanced scoring, more than 60 percent of their points from either the backcourt or frontcourt. These squads are 17 – 4 Straight Up ….

Before 2006 this trend was 11-2 Straight up … from 2006 to 2016 the trend is 6-2 SU but I noticed when the imbalanced scoring was over 65% the trend went 5-0 SU …in the 2 losses the imbalanced scoring was 60% and 62 %

Kentucky’s imbalanced scoring is 74 % scoring from backcourt …puts them in the 5 -0 SU category since 2006 and the overall 17-4 SU Category ..

But ….if decide on UCLA ..not looking bad with below stat ….

3-seed that has a coach who isn't a rookie to the tourney but has fewer than 10 trips to the Dance. These 3-seeds are 9-4 , while their counterparts are 5-11 ….. Steve Alford Coach of 3 seed UCLA only has 9 trips to Tourney …just a heads up !
