A few futures I am playing:Lowest scoring team.....stoke@11-1..and villa@13-1...Each fer a hundy...And to finish bottom of the table villa@22-1 fer a hundy as well...$300 invested thus far....still doing some more homework by end of day...gave myself a dime to invest for the season on solid rates of return...thus, I didn't wager on the gooners @7-5 to finish out of the top 4....the weekly look on that French pricks face is priceless enough....betting money at those short odds would merely be kicking the proverbial 'feeder club' while they are down

More...trifectas for $100 each...City-Utd-Newcastle@150-1...Utd-City-Newcastle@200-1...City-Chelsea-Newcastle@375-1....total of $300 there...any combo of City/Utd./Chelsea will get you nothing in return...12-1 w/Chelsea on top was best I saw....

i like $1 to win $1000 on Man Citeh to be relegated. Good ol' soccernet forecast Man City, United, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal...wow thanks for the insight. They have Newcastle at 8th...gotta wonder why ESPN bothers with anything other than basketball.

City will win league by 5-9 points this year. United should take 2nd as Chelsea don't have the attacking strength and changed around far too many players to be successful. Spurs and Gunners don't do a lot for me and of course I despise Liverpool so I really like your City-United-Newcastle bet. Newcastle didn't do a lot in the off-season but it's better than losing players and starting from scratch. Likely 3rd is a bit high but no fun investing in a 1-2-3 bet at less than 40/1.

speaking of previews this is now EVERY YEAR in a row my 4-4-2 preview issue won't be here before the season starts. WTF?!?!

if there's a soccer god then Reading will drop with QPR and Wigan (well, prefer Liverpool with QPR and Wigan...will accept Reading if I must)

The 3 I wanted to play to drop(wigan, villa,QPR)were not available, I could only get combos of those w/other pos teams at the bottom...I give reading a shot to stay up w/their ownership...west ham knows all about the top flight , though I'd rather have them just war w/millwall every weekend w/bodies bloodied in the streets....and Southampton COULD be this years Blackpool..

Cocktails...did you catch the Belguim/Holland friendly Wednesday? They totally quit the last 30 minutes after two second half goals gave them 2-1 lead. I was totally disgusted. We have all the talent in the world, but no heart.

I like ManU, City, Chelsea and Newcastle T4.....with Wigan, Reading, and Norwich to go down. I do agree that Southampton will attempt to play some football with the big boys...should be fun!

I watched the whole game...Wanted to see Van Gaal's approach....solid attacking line up on paper...unfortunately they play onturf not paper...I have finally seen enough of the sneijder-robben era.....sad but the moment has clearly surpassed their egos...the defense is still dregs and stecklenburg is average....vorm needs to be the Dutch keeper....as for the rest?....time to begin the next youth movement and hope for the best....

Next set of futures....hundy on Top goal scorer in EPL under 20 goals@7-1....my thinking is w/van pussy at Utd now his scoring gets minimized w/Rooney,well beck, chicarito,etc...Chelsea doesn't have a 20 goal scorer now that it left for china...arsenal gave away their 30+ goals....and w/tevez back the 4 fwds at city will share the wealth..one of the offshoots like bent or cisse will have to beat me here I feel....

solid reasoning but maybe a little too much thinking as history wouldn't agree, especially with that magic number, 20. only once since 99/00 did the golden boot not score at least 20 and that dude, anelka, hit for 19. the avg boot is 24 in 35 app and for 13 straight years the boot went to a guy from city (tevez tied with munster), united, arsenal, or chelsea. but that's why it is 7/1.

i think torres is your biggest opponent on this

the only issue i would have about the under 20 goals in demba ba. I saw him at +3300 for top goal scorer and took it for a small amount. It is true that the wealth should be spread between arsenal (you didn't mention them??), Utd, City and Chelski. I know Cisse should net goals for Newcastle too but demba ba always looks like he can score 3+ goals a game. Cisse 13 goals in 14 matches...wow i didn't know that. Maybe Demba Ba and Demba Cisse can share the goals too.

you guys are nuts to think newcastle finishes ahead of arsenal. I question top 3 because of Chelski now but 4th is a sure thing. We are better day one than we were last year and should get Jack Wilshire back. Top 4 since 1997 and the fact we did it last year with what is considered the worst season we've had in a long time. I know there is very little love for Arsene or the gooners...we still have the 4th best team on paper and no drama since we always get rid of the ones that want to leave and don't change managers every other year. We'll come back in April and wonder how Arsene and Dial Square did it....30 mins to go. Sorry Sunderland but you just got Giroud...

Yea.....I bet them -142 in the second half after taking Sunderland +1/2 in the first half. Podulski is not RvP though....the sooner we see Giroud the better

nobodys nuts in fact nobody is even saying it WILL happen. the conversation is taking 150-200/1 for a monster payout. of course city-united-arsenal or city-united-chelsea is far more viable which is why the odds are so far less.

true that rolltide..WBA looks like a 4th place team today...hahaha....RVP would have scored the Giroud chance ... so 2 points down thanks to MAN UTD....or maybe the greedy arsenal owners that like money...or it's just one game and who cares. I'm going with option 3.

GL with you guys first matches...

well, like rolltide said...it's all about a season long investment at hefty odds...and yes, i am definitely not playing w/a full deck..so calling me crazy is like saying "hello" to me....but after day 1....gooners 1pt....Newcastle 3pts.....cue the Paul Simon, 'still crazy after all these years'///////cheers

offside............city getting all the calls again this year..haha...you should phone Sheikh Al Nahyan and tell them to free transfer Silva to a 3rd division Russian club. He's not worthy of such a good team.....maybe arsenal will pick him up to replace RVP

A win regardless...woulda been shitting myself if I had bet them today@5-1 odds...Mancini continues to boggle my mind...wasted no time inserting his new boy toy into the line up only to have him pass it 100x's to yaya...o yeah and once to southampton(result=goal for away side)...aguero should be ok...thankfully....dzeko's first touches are still abysmal but I continue(don't know why?)to back his existence w/city...and two more thoughts that I have stressed for quite sometime....a)joe hart is good...not world class....b)Joleon lescott should have his boots stolen and never returned....his defense looks like a move out of 'Riverdance'....
