Another overzealous employee demanding a mask must be worn

I had mentioned last week some of the inconsistencies in policies while I was in Vegas with employees making up their own rules. Well, I just left Costco about an hour ago and was told by the woman who checks the receipts that I needed to wear a mask if I wanted to enter the store next time (I had my face shield on). Even though I was aware of their policies, I thought I would double check it when I got back into the car just in case they had updated it....

"effective May 4, 2020, all Costco members and guests must wear a face covering that covers the mouth and nose, at all times while at Costco"

Upon reading this, I gave a quick call to their office to let them know about their overzealous employee. They said they would head down and talk with her to make sure she wasn't giving out information that wasn't aligned with their company policy.

Sorry, I'm more than happy to comply with your policies but not interested in people thinking they are going to make up their own rules.

the same thing happened to me saturday when i went to the micro beer joint to get jug refills. i was informed by the employee that i was not allowed in with the face shield. and that there was a sensitive person in the building that said the face shield didn't work. i told that employee that workers all over the city were wearing the shield. I also had a dental cleaning Monday and brought the shield. the dentist and the assistant cleaning my teeth approved and i walked freely in a medical building with the shield. yet some bar keep with zero medical training insisted i not go in. i had been previously going into that building with the shield the last 4 months. i asked if the building changed its policy. she said no the owners did not change and that it was her decision based on a sensitive customer. so i had to wait outside while they refilled the jugs. i informed them that would be my last trip to their place.

also this bar keep mentioned that the city mandates masks. I said no they mandate face coverings. she insisted masks. at that point i gave up i wasn't going to argue with a complete imbecile.

That was the common ploy in Vegas and seldom was anything done about it. And honestly what's the point of that. Like I said, I'm happy to comply with a policy, but that policy should be consistent for everyone. If it's too much of an inconvenience, I can take my business elsewhere.

I was at a few retail places on Saturday. Seems like it the was foreigners who were complying the least.

Last week in my office building, i saw an African American girl walking and talking on her cellphone while her mask was under her chin. I gave her a WTF look

Yep, that's bullshit. I have no patience for people that lie or try to implement a policy that simply suits them even though they have no authority to do such.
