Calgary has defeated Anaheim in their last four consecutive meetings and seven of their last eight games. It’s quite clear, the Flames have their number and the odds reflect exactly that as Calgary is a whopping -400 favorite.
It is indeed a mismatch particularly when you consider that Anaheim ranks 31st in goals scored and dead last in goals allowed. But there is one stat that pushed me over the edge – Calgary is ranked No. 2 in shots on goal, averaging 35.4 shots per game, while the Ducks are, yet again, dead last in shots allowed at 39.2 shots per game.
Calgary throws a lot of rubber on the net and the Ducks don’t have the kind of defense that can withstand a barrage like that, or any barrage for that matter as evidenced by the fact that they allow 4.03 goals per game.
So, what we’re going to do is expect a blowout in this one with the Flames having had an extra day of rest after their 1-0 shootout win over Minnesota on Tuesday while the Ducks last took the ice on Wednesday, losing 3-2 to the Canucks.
Let’s lay 2 ½ goals and get a +110 return over at BetMGM and watch the Flames flambé the Ducks on Friday night.
