Quarter bets have not been my cup of tea, and it goes against my overall pick for the game, but the Raiders +0.5 for the 1st quarter seems like some nice value on the game.
The Raiders have been ahead at the end of 1 in 3 of their games and tied once. They have only trailed twice. At home they have been ahead once and tied once.
The Chiefs have started a little slower, as they have been behind or tied at the end of 1 in 2 of their 3 road games. In their other 3 games they have ahead once, tied once, and trailed once.
To me getting the home team +0.5 against a team that has started a bit slow in some of their games looks solid for the 1st quarter. If the Raiders come out fired up in the 1st quarter and get an early TD, the lead is nearly insurmountable (nearly!!!). Hopefully after that the Chiefs will impose their will. Here's to a 7-7 1st quarter.
