He would be an immigration lawyer if he wasn't a senator? Cmon! I think he understands we're coming into a time with technological and global challenges that the other older candidates maybe don't understand as well. You just don't hear candidates talk about long-term issues that aren't partisan anymore, like long-term disruption from automaton or technological advances and how it'll effect the economic landscape going forward, the world is changing at an exponential rate and I think he understands that.
The guy had 100k in student loans, not 100 million handed to him when he was 25. He understands the challenges people are facing in regards to education. Pretty much the #1 obstacle for upward mobility.
I realize Trump hooked you up with some nice ass back in the salad days but cmon Neverbend!
I freely admit a bias toward the candidacy of Don Trump, & often like many do
recall fond memories of the past of which Trump along with many others were
a part of when I was in my prime. Funny thing is now I'm amazed at the energy
of this guy who's only 3 maybe 4 years younger than I.
One thing I think your off base about is the fact that Trump was handed 100
million from his father at 25. I was making far more than all my college & highschool
friends when I met Trump, though I heard his father built Trump Village in
Brooklyn it meant little to me being from North Jersey he bragged alot and had
a new cadillac I thought financially he wasn't much more blessed than I. My dad
had a photoengraving business on a 22,500 sq, ft lot in Hackensack & got a swetheart
deal to move into the Paterson Evening News Building so we were in the process
of putting the building & lot up for sale, we had an offer on 200,000 from a bank
when I told Trump he might be interested. We took the trip to Jersey & he looked
the place over & he only said he was looking for something much bigger, he was not
belittling at all. Then he wanted to go to a singles bar in Jersey, now there was nothing
like the places in the city here in Jersey but I took him to what I thought was the
closest thing, there there were about 5 girls & 40 or so guys Trump quipped this
looks like a gay bar let's get outta here.
My point is that at that time looking back Trump's father had given him the go ahead
to acquire properties: a 200, 000 acquisition didn't interest him he may have had
his father permission to acquire maybe 2 to 5 million lots at the time. He certainly
didn't get 100 million hand to him at 22 or 23. His father lived a long time by the
time he died Trump was already a multi-millionaire.
As for Rubio I really don't think starting from a lower middle class background a making
something of yourselves deserves as much praise as you do. Good presidents come from
patrician backgrounds Washington, Jefferson, Polk, the Roosevelts, Kennedy & from
the other side of the track also offhand Truman, Lincoln, Reagan. That should have nothing
to do with assessing Presidential potential.
