The Orioles are now 1-6 in their last seven home games and Jason Hammel struggled allowing 9 hits, 5 earned runs in only 4.2 innings of work while walking four batters. Jordan Zimmerman had one of his best outings of the season pitching 7.2 innings, allowing only 5 hits, 2 earned runs and striking out 5 Marlins batters to earn the win. Zimmerman has not allowed 3 earned runs or less in each of his 8 starts (counting the ones before the All-Star Break as well). Josh Johnson was pretty good for Miami going 7.0 innings, 120 pitches, allowing 6 hits and striking out 6 Washington batters but it was his 2-Run double he allowed against Danny Espinosa that broke this one open in the 6th inning and Washington never looked back.

Frankling Morales had a rough outing going 4.2 innings, allowing 5 earned runs on 8 hits to Tampa Bay's powerful lineup but the Red Sox lineup was up to the task as they battered around Rays started Jeremy Hellickson for 6 earned runs on David Ortiz and Jacoby Ellsbury Home Runs. The Rays have now dropped five straight Hellickson home starts and that just won't cut it.
