- I just returned from my 10th visit (yes, 10 in 2 years)! I have stayed at the Aladdin 8 of those 10 visits and now Im wondering why. I have aquired the gold card status which apparently means nothing, nor does my very high number of visits. I have NEVER been comped for my stay or upgraded by the Aladdin. I find the casino hosts more interested in pointing out how great of hotel your getting rather than how pleased they are that you are there. Not to mention a regular by anyone's standards.
The hotel is nice and we like the upgraded room (of which we always have to pay for) for it's spaciousness, however, I am coming back in a couple of months but I will stay elsewhere. I have already been offered a comped stay by 2 other hotels! Bye Bye Aladdin - you'll miss me.
-the room was so dark you could hardly see where you were walking. went to look out window tripped over a lamp switch cord and fell. complained to front desk , no response neither did they do anything about the lighting in the room. i am still sore today from the fall, never received an apology or assistance, change of room nothing. i was so happy to check out that next morning into the las vegas hilton which was`wonderful. great bright rooms friendly staff, very comfortable and most important a safe place to stay. i look forward to my next visit to las vegas and my stay at the hilton.
- When we checked into our room, we found a neon green notice on our door that read "CAUTION carpet has been shampooed, may cause slippery conditions". We assumed the management was aware and would not book us in the room if it was not satisfactory. We had just driven from LA and decided it wasn't too bad since we would spend most of the day out the hotel.
When we returned 6 hours later, the floor was still wet. We called the front desk and found that they had no rooms to move us to and that our only option was to have a blower sent up to the room. Although tired from our drive, we decided to leave the room for a couple of hours so that the carpet could drive. When we returned sometime after midnight, we found that the carpet was still rather damp. We called down again and complained. Once again we were told there were no available rooms and had to wait till morning. We said we wanted something done about the hotel rate since we were staying in such an inadequate room, and they gave us the impression that the rate was reduced to only $20 for the night.
In the morning the carpet was finally dry, and we had decided we had already spent too much time talking to the front desk and didn't want to spend our only full day in Vegas resettling into another room.
When we checked out the next day, we found out that the bill was only reduced by $20. We complained and said the best they could do was reduce the bill by another $20. We were outraged and went downstairs to talk to a hotel manager personally. We told him how disappointed we were in the hotel staff, services and accomidations. He only said he agreed, but our expereince was not typical. ( I don't agree with the complaints i found on this site) and said they were at the mercy of housekeeping and the room should never have been flagged as available. He also said there was nothing else they could do about the rate. We were outraged that the hotel manager only passed the blame, would do nothing else and insisted we still pay an outrageous price for a room that should he agreed was in no condition for a guest to stay in.
I would also like to note that the Zanzibar Cafe is over priced, that Elements is not cracked up as all it is written up to be and PF Changs is a big disappointment.
-Just returned from Vegas last weekend. The Aladdin was a huge disappointment - it is definitely not a "4 star" rating in my opinion. The room contained a small window, no cable TV (not even basic!), the bathroom average at best. The pool area was a huge concrete slab - no character whatsoever. With Aladdin being a newer hotel on the Strip, and with all the surrounding competition, I expected this hotel to truly be one of the best 4 star values around....I was wrong. With all the choices available in Vegas for accommodations, steer clear from this hotel!!
-I've stayed at bad hotels before, but never cared to write a negative review. The staff at the Aladdin really got under my skin. From the valet, to the reception, even the dealer at the casino! Every employee in this hotel was arrogant. They want to make sure, customers don't come back. It makes me even more mad cause this is the most beautiful hotel I've ever stayed in. The interior is spectacular. Especially the shopping mall. Too bad I will never stay there again
-stayed here in april 2003 would not return. good things - quick check in, 2 starbucks locations- (they were very busy so there was a wait) and the buffet has excellent food. would return there to eat. bad things- the room service was not coming around to even switch out towels, i checked in with a wedding party and we requested to be put close together then apon arrival, we were seperated as well on diffrent floors. the cafe was horrid. the food is plain and expensive. for being the newest hotel opened there pool is square and about 5 feet deep.and to tan good luck-the hotel is blocking the sun all you get is shade and you get to walk a distance to get to the pool.
- We arrived at the Aladdin on Easter Sunday, the 11th. Though we are routinely offered complimentary upgrades everywhere else we stay, it did not happen at the Aladdin. The room was nice, and was modern, and very clean. The cleaners knocked on the door very early each morning, which we thought was very rude. The casino is the pits. The blackjack dealers shuffle by hand, and it takes a lot of time. They also offer the sucker trap of 6:5 payout for naturals at their single deck blackjack. The dealers that we encountered seemed rather lackluster, not horrible, but not good either. The drink service to gamblers was extremely slow as well.
There are a lot of better choices on the strip.
